so...Losing to SJSU, narrow win over FCS Portland State. Getting warmer in Pigville

Drinkwitz beating UNC to start the year 3-0 ain't helping Morris. Eli was an assistant at Alma and then with Gus at Springdale and Auburn. Gus ditched him at AState and Harsin kept him and before the year was out had taken over play calling. Then went to Boise State and NC State before being HC at App.

Drink has fans in Arkansas, especially in NW Arkansas. There's going to be a drumbeat for him. It's already been pointed out that in one-fourth of a season he has more career wins over P5 than Morris.

Knock it off with that kind off talk, at least until December please.

He's no more experienced than Morris. I think Arkansas would go for a more proven HC. They really should dump all the SEC TV money on Mike Leach.

.Texas A&M was about to snatch Morris from SMU until Arkansas grabbed him. Then A&M focused in on Jimbo Fisher since Morris, a favorite of the DFW boosters, went to Arkansas.

Morris was A&M’s sixth choice at best. You are crazy to think he’d choose Arkansas over A&M.

Justin Fuente's name keeps coming up in some discussions I have been privy to. Virginia Tech's recruiting this year has been sub par. The natives are getting restless.

Jimbo Fisher FSU 83-23 [48-16] 2013 National Chip, 5-2 Bowls
Chad Morris SMU 14-22 [8-16]

TXAM's interest in Chad Morris was as strong as a billionaire shopping in WalMart's jewelry section.

The Gamecocks will finish 2-10 or 3-9, which seems likely as Florida, A&M, Georgia and Clemson are certain losses and App State, who beat UNC who beat the Cocks, Tennessee, Kentucky and Vanderbilt are all at best pick em games. Still, nothing will happen since, unfathomably, Muschamp gets $22m if he is fired before December 31, and the buyout only goes down to $18.6m after 1/1/2020. It is depressing, but there is simply no financially viable way to both get rid of Muschamp this year and put together enough money to entice an attractive replacement candidate, not that I think anyone would be lining up to take this job based on the ascendance of UGA, Clemson etc. Unless Muschamp completely blows a gasket and does something so bonkers that he can be fired for cause (not entirely out of the question), the only real way to begin digging out of this cluster is for the new school President Caslen to fire AD Ray Tanner, who is responsible for this indefensible buyout, and then have a new AD brought in who can evaluate the program closely in 2020 and be ready to fire Muschamp if and when anyone who is worth a damn would be willing to take the job. It’s going to get much, much worse in Columbia before it gets any better. The Cocks need to reverse course and start selling beer and wine at the games and devote those proceeds, suspend any non-football capital investments and reallocate their share of the SEC Network cash to the buyout ASAP.

Arkansas's should be fired now.

U of Michigan's, if they really are a National Championship or bust program, but I think he sticks around another year if they hit 10 wins again without winning the Big 10.

IMO Morris will get another year. He's going to have to replace Chief though, as it appears the game has passed him by. Arkansas fans wanted Venables when Morris was hired, and they'll want him again but they aren't going to get him.

I'll take Harbaugh at Arkansas. Last B1G hire didn't work out that great, but I'm happy to give it another go.

To be fair, by SEC standards, that's some pretty robust OOC scheduling. 05-stirthepot

Bob Davie of New Mexico will get another year. The wheels came off the program since he is M.I.A. in action after the health scare which he is recovering. It would be against the law to fire him since illness or disabilities are a concern. They could make an agreement to pay out the rest of his contract as he retires for health reasons.

Scott Frost of Nebraska would be on the hot seat if the team continues losing. Scott should have stick with UCF. At least he knows he would win there.

We are in the final stages of approving a $20 million dollar tennis complex, so it sounds like there’s your buyout money right there

The fanbase has turned on WM pretty hard so unless they pull some unforeseen upsets he’s out of here this year IMO

No. There has been improvement under Frost. And he has only had 1 year. He will be given at least 5 years to get his players and install his system. People know that this is a rebuild that will take time. Most people just want to see steady improvement and are not expecting Top 10 rankings in year 2.

Last week at Illinois, Nebraska racked up close to 700 yards of offense and gave up only about 300 yards (& 70 yards came on 1 play), picked up 32 first downs, went 11/19 on 3rd downs (Illini were 1/12); But still nearly lost the game due to turnovers and penalties.

That has to get cleaned up. They could be good if they stop shooting themselves in the foot.

Which SEC school does he go to next? He's been at 5 already: Georgia (as a player), LSU, Auburn (as an assistant), Florida, South Carolina (as head coach).
