This presidential election cycle, after reading position papers, watching the debates and reading social media comments of the 20 plus candidates, on the Left, I equate voting for one of them to trying to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Everyone of our generation knows it was 4 dead just by the song. Joe knows it was 4 dead. He MIGHT have thought the number shot was 40, who knows. 4 dead is permanently ingrained in my head yet I had absolutely no idea 13 in total were shot. A number I never sung along to.

Joe's older than us (since you know the song, you obviously aren't as old as him). He is pre-boomer. He was a teenager in the era after rock had died, when the marching band took the field and refused to yield. He probably doesn't remember Neal Young.

Kinda my thought too. I expect he was reading the speech and said 40 in stead of 4..or misread his teleprompter. Again...No fcking way I vote for him regardless. He is a relic that should long ago been shuffled off to retirement and is responsible for the damn mess we have now.

Biden was 27 years old when the shootings occurred. If he has honestly forgotten, then — who-knows? — maybe he really is getting senile.

But as for the CSN song, I think it’s entirely possible he wasn’t aware of that. He doesn’t seem like he was the sort to hang out at protests or listen to that kind of music.

Maybe..At his age of 27 CSN were one of the biggest act in the business. The song however was released as a single and even banned by some AM stations that were Nixon leaning. It did get lots of play on underground FM and was played non stop at anti war rallies. Biden..being the stiff tight ass that I can envision...might have been obtuse enough to not have heard it or thought much about the lyrics.

This, as far as I knew only 4 were shot and they were shot dead.

Have they begun limiting his appearances? I haven't heard a recent gaffe. Perhaps his handlers convinced him of the critical need to stick to the script...
