The next round should be more interesting. But I’m pulling for our CUSA brethren to bring down the establishment (Michigan, Ohio State, TX).

We'll win by at least 20. That's my only line in the sand.

I still think UTSA pulls it out. But we got to see Incarnate Word's offense last year... And we saw UTSA's. If Frank Harris cant get the Runners to score more points, then it's not inconceivable that IW wins. They can and will score. UTSA has everything to lose and IW has everything to gain. This is their Super Bowl. This is the only FCS game Im worried about for CUSA this season. History tells me we will likely drop 1 that we dont see coming though.

Yes, you did get to see both of our offenses last year. You beat Incarnate Word 58-16 and you beat us 24-21. Incarnate Word's offense had 12 first downs against you, and we had 20. Incarnate Word's offense had 296 yards against you and we had 400. Good thing there's more to football than just offense though, right? After all, our defense is one of the few things we actually get some respect for.

Btw, our game against you guys in the final week was Jeff Kastl's debut as our OC. Granted, you guys don't exactly excel at defense, but it was the best we looked all season.

FIU blows out Tulane? Hmmm. I'd be interested to hear how you think its a blow out win.

Because Toolame has sucked since 1998?

It's not like FIU has been a world beater though...

I'm not saying FIU can't win, I'm having an issue with the blowout part

In 2017 Tulane was -12 fav on the road against us, they lost by two TD.

Willie Fritz is slowly building a team at Tulane, they were 5-3 in the AAC last year. The point spread is about right.

Seems like UTSA always saves their best game for North Texas. Records don't mean much when we face each other, and nothing comes easy. It's why media around Texas is beginning to warm up to our annual game and they are so entertaining to watch. I expect the same this season.

That’s why I’d say you guys are our true Rivals, at least right now. Not UTEP or Rice. Now if TX State were in our conference, it would still be them as it basically historically always has been. But in CUSA, it’s definitely North Texas. Not sure if u guys feel the same way. And lastly, outside of u guys in CUSA, there’s always been something about that La Tech match up too. Maybe I’d put them at 1.B for rivals??

Not necessarily because I think back to 2015 when your only win of the season was against us. That was a game we really should've won as we dominated in every stat except on the scoreboard. We had 31 first downs to your 20, 477 yards to your 371, and even the time of possession was 37:36 to 22:24 in our favor. Somehow we blew that one though.

But I will say that our games always seem to be close. We're dead even at 3 wins a piece so far in our series, and every game but one was a one-score margin...

Your wins... +7, +3, +3
Our wins... +8, +7, +14

Only other thing I'll say about our game against Incarnate Word is that even New Mexico beat 'em 62-30 last year, and the Lobos finished the year 3-9 just like us. I just see no way we don't win this thing by at least 20, even if Incarnate Word is improved this season, because we'll also be better this year. Those of you who think this will be a nail-biter are either giving Incarnate Word too much credit or us far too little credit. It won't be close.

I hope you’re right. What’s scary about them is they massively improved last season throughout the year since they had those games with unt and nm state. Had they played those games later in season I think they would have been closer and not blowouts. Not saying uiw would have won but they wouldn’t have been shalackings.

They did improve as the year progressed, because last year was their first season under Eric Morris, and the two games against UNM and UNT were his first two games as their coach. I took that into account though, and that's why I'm keeping my prediction at what I consider a rather conservative 20 points. It will be at least 20 though.
