Seriously?
You actually believe The ACC doesn’t put basketball ahead of everything?
The ACC may compete and win national titles in a number of sports but the conference is definitely a “one trick pony” and they ride that pony too.

As for “you can’t please everyone” ....That’s the problem. Instead of spending its first few hours on the air proving the conference was going to be about more than basketball, they spent 28 minutes talking about football and 3 hours and 32 minutes talking about basketball between 7 and 11.

Instead of trying to please everyone and keep casual fans that were tuning in for the network premiere interested The ACC said we don’t care. The ACC proved again last night that The ACC will never change.

Take a Xanax bud, it was the first night so of course they're going to talk about the crown jewel of the conference.

Thank you for making my point.

UConn thinks basketball is more important too!

I didn't mind them talking about the Biggest Brands out the gate... I would however expect that to balance out once football season really begins.

They thought academics were important too...lol
The truth is UConn screwed up leaving the conference. I understand why they did it. They are trying to get back to their roots with Big East Basketball. I respect that. Nobody misses Big East Basketball more than me. The reality is they will soon realize The Big East they went back to isn’t the same without you guys, Syracuse, Pitt, and Louisville.

Honestly, like UConn, I would trade playing some of the schools in The ACC for games against you guys, Marquette, Georgetown, Villanova and St Johns. I would definitely trade whatever North Carolina arena The ACC Tournament finds itself in come March for Saturday night in The Garden.

With all that being said, I wouldn’t want to see our football team screwed to get the band back together. Good luck against Ohio State. I hope you guys win that game.

Instead of trying to please everyone and keep casual fans that were tuning in for the network premiere interested The ACC said we don’t care. The ACC proved again last night that The ACC will never change.

Do you even know the meaning of one trick pony? Obviously not per your statement above.."the ACC may compete and win national titles in a number of sports but the conference is definitely a "one trick pony" and they ride that pony too". Huh? The ACC won five national championships which included the two revenue generating sports (football and basketball). Dude, just stop.

I came home, turned immediately to the channel and enjoyed every minute of it. I also watched the Duke documentary. I watched the individual introductions of different student athletes from all over the ACC. I watched the advertisement for the "All In" series about Clemson football. I watched the segment about VT wrestling national champ. This morning watched Packer and Durham and they certainly touched on everything. Interviews with all of the national championship coaches.

Someone posted today's line up which most certainly is a heavy football lean. Will watch that also. I am not a conditional ACC fan. It isn't like they haven't covered football. And, let's not pretend like there is a lot of positive news with regard to ACC football right now. Clemson? Yes. Syracuse? Yes. There are nothing but huge question marks and hope related to FSU, Miami, GaTech and VaTech football. Huge question marks with State being able to sustain its limited success. Huge question marks regarding if Mack can bring UNC back to the success they had during his first tenure. Louisville is one big question mark as well. So is Pitt. So I guess a 12 hour slate on the potential of ACC football programs is what will get new viewers? What are they going to show? A feature about the turnover chain which results in Miami winning exactly what and being in contention for what? Or maybe they can show how U of L football team and coach quit on each other resulting in what? Maybe they can show UNC's spiral toward the absolute bottom through inept coaching and injury. They can call it from Coastal Champs to Coastal chumps.

The network is new and I would rather support, celebrate something everyone doubted and hope for the best. Rather than tearing ish down for no reason. It will get better. Sorry for the rant but damn.

My apologies for sounding like a dick about our new conference network. That wasn’t my intention. Maybe I expected too much the first day. I actually watched Mark and Wes this morning and enjoyed it.

Truth is I’m a Big East guy through and through so I’m a little more critical than I should be. People here will tell you I never cared much for The ACC before Louisville joined. It’s been hard for me to accept the change.

I have a natural hate for all things Duke. (I know who doesn’t) To start our network with a two our movie devoted to rat face was more than I could stomach.

BTW +3 for your post. Much respect

I enjoyed the documentary last night, but I knew that the ending was gonna be pretty fun to watch. 04-cheers

I think this network is gonna be great.

-- Jac Collinsworth ... there's no doubt who his Daddy is, huh? Kid sounds just like his pops. And I was impressed with how he anchored coverage. Does he have ACC ties? I know his brother Austin went to Notre Dame ... did he also? Kinda curious.

-- Watching the Packer - Durham show this morning, where they featured the reigning national champion coaches from last year's NCAA championships ... I had no idea the ACC did that well.

Field Hockey
Men's Wrestling
Men's Lacrosse
Men's Hoops
Football

I think this covered it ... but I couldn't watch the whole show.

It's pretty much wall-to-wall football today, with a heavy emphasis previewing the Miami - Florida game tomorrow.

I'm psyched.

Thanks ...

And I may have missed another national champ ... Women's Soccer.

Impressive haul for the conference. And Notre Dame women missed one by a Free Throw too, basically.

Whether I like him or not, Coach K is legendary and still coaching. The retired Bobby Bowden did dominate the ACC when he first joined, no doubt, but the ACC existed for many years before FSU was a part of the conference.

He went to Notre Dame as well.

He got his media start working with local ND media. He hurt his back in high school and was not recruited to ND as an athlete.

"Prior to joining ESPN, Collinsworth – as a college student – created, produced and hosted a weekly ND Live digital series focused on the Notre Dame football team. For three years, he filed weekly player features for head coach Brian Kelly’s nationally-syndicated television show, Inside Notre Dame Football, and he was featured on Showtime’s A Season with Notre Dame Football, where he interviewed athletes on his weekly podcast. He also covered Notre Dame Pro Day in 2016 and 2017 for NFL Network.

While in South Bend, Collinsworth worked as an assistant sideline producer for NBC broadcasts of Notre Dame football from 2013-16, and he was a sideline reporter for NBC telecasts of the Notre Dame Blue-Gold spring football game in 2016 and 2017. Collinsworth covered the 2016 Summer Games in Rio as NBC Olympics’ first social media correspondent, interviewing athletes as a part of the Olympic Late Night with Ryan Seacrest team. During his last two years of college, Collinsworth also co-hosted a radio show, “The Student Section,” on Sirius XM.

A native of Fort Thomas, Kentucky, near Cincinnati, Collinsworth has worked in front of and behind the camera since he was in eighth grade. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in May 2017 with a degree in Film, Television and Theatre. He is the son of NBC Sunday Night Football analyst and former NFL player Cris Collinsworth. His brother, Austin, is a former Notre Dame player and team captain, and his sister Ashley was captain of the Harvard University women’s track team."

Good luck to Jac Collinsworth and Jordan Cornette (former ND basketball player and announcer), among others. I hope the Network does well.

I'll tune in for some actual games. The other programming, though....I am not into studio shows, talk shows, retrospectives, classic games and the like.

I tried to watch it last night, but lasted about only ten minutes.

I know the ACC doesn't care if I tune it, they got me as a subscriber.

We are still getting situated with retirement and the move to Virginia.

We do have tickets to the 11/9 Duke/ND game in Durham.

That was a really good 10 minute video. I felt they did a good job covering all the schools. Even though Christian Laetnerr was a giant douche in his playing days, it seems that he has matured some.

Christian Laettner will never have to buy a drink in Louisville for the rest of his life. Thank God he hit that shot. We still listen to the blue and white mouth breathers out in the state whine about CBS showing that highlight too much...lol

Terry are you coming to town for the season opener?

Jim, I would love to, but have to pass.

We are still getting situated with retirement and the move to Virginia.

We do have tickets to the 11/9 Duke/ND game in Durham.

Maybe next time then....
Congratulations on your retirement.
I just retired in April.

Congrats to you as well, Jim.
