Anything to get some excitement back to the program and rebuild the fan base. I'm looking forward to being there for the opener.

There is simple software for I'd checking. Inexpensive too.

You don't see a lot of places putting this kind of "add-on" option/experience for their lowest tier of ticket. This is should be a great move not just for NIU trying to build a base and but also just overall game experience.

This, absolutely this. We need things to excite the casual fan and the dormant student body. They show up to tailgate, that much is clear. If even half those people tailgating went to the games after we'd be clipping 18k regularly.

The weeknight MACtion games are kind of a lost cause unless we're sniffing an access bowl, but still... our Saturday games NEED life breathed into them and I think this is a great start

This....reduced concessions is a creative way to incentivize east side ticket sales. I hope students embrace it.

Hoping the marketing to students is reaching that audience.

If there is one group in DeKalb I trust to reach students, it's bar owners

Let's just hope it doesn't end up being The Puke Pound or leads to a Dog Fight and someone ends up in the DeKalb Kennel.

I've been to one stadium with massive drinking by students inside and the was CFU when NIU played them at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando. Those beers were $4 and that was probably 2/3 coeds of the about 5k students.

Yes, I hope Fatty's brings vomit buckets (barrels) to be placed in all the east side aisles.

HAHA

We were on the east side the they were like in the se corner. You could just see it was mostly girls. There weren't many regular fans drinking where we were. But when you looked towards student section, went under you would see them with beers. They were dressed to go out.

Now the FSU girls.....the were dressed for football. Boots, tanks, jorts and little else.

Students won't be drinking more alcohol, they will just be drinking it in the stadium.

And it's actually regulated to some degree unlike outside.

back in the day, Kegs were ok for tailgating. Also, they used to have free corn for the first game until the corn fight of 1986, then it went away. Time will tell

Corn was flying all over the place. We went to the game to get out of harm's way. I recall the grass field after the game... disaster.

My friend's car was destroyed with hundreds if not thousands of corn cobs bouncing off it. The car looked like someone just start whacking it with a ball peen hammer .

As they always say, don't bring a car to a corn cob fight.

It's smart of them to do a trial-run before the HOME OPENER against Ball State in October.

GO NIU!

Beat Utah.

I remember the days where I used my time inside the stadium to sober up. Those days are gone.

$2 Natty Light. Solid. All a college student with a budget but wanting a beer could ask for at a football game.

They were huge at a couple bars outside Camden Yards a couple summers ago.
