It'll only be 3 by game day.

You’re probably right. The line seems high to me.

I hope we win big, but I have a feeling it will be a close game..

I agree with btiger has a point. I don't understand why we're favored in the Mississippi or Houston game. I hope we win them, but don't know why we're favored.

RE: Can't Understand Why Tigers Are Favored
I hate to agree with btiger, but I have a bad feeling about this game. We played one SEC team last year and got absolutely destroyed. Had we played Ole Miss’s schedule, we’d have been lucky to finish 5-7. You take away two of the better players in program history in Henderson and Pollard, I have serious doubts. I have little faith in Brady White. He lacks the toughness that Riley Ferguson had. He wilts under pressure.

I don’t know much about Ole Miss but if they have a team near the caliber of Mizzou, it could be a rude awakening.

I understand why we are favored. Adam Fuller and the improved defense.

I sincerely hope it improves. It’s been trash for the last 5-6 years. I won’t believe it’s changed until I see it...against good competition.

I really like the hire and I hope he can turn it around, but you’re right, our defense has been awful for many years. Anyway, it would be an awesome win for us...

Since you admit that you don't know much about them, ole miss was trash last season. They didn't beat a team with a winning record and all but one of their victories were against 2 win teams.

Missouri beat ut 50-17 (not relevant but just liked saying it). Beat Arkansas 38-0, why ole miss only won by 4. They held Bama to their 3rd lowest regular season score. Missouri played 4 ranked teams, beat FL AT FL by 21, in their 3 losses, unlike ole miss by 116, they lost by a combined score of 44. That's against GA, Bama and ky.

Once again, ole miss returns 3 starters on offense, losing their QB both very good WRs, TE and 3 OL. On Defense they return 8 starters, losing their better LB and DB... from a defense than ranked 121. 40 spaces behind Memphis.

While it would get the season off to a great start and is great for fans that have to put up with ole miss fans all season, it's probably the 5th or 6th toughest game this season. We should easily be favored by 6 and I highly doubt it will drop below 4 because almost every prediction for ole miss has them going 5-7 at best.

Yeah, every year I hear, next year our defense... next season we will have the redshirts playing...

I have to see it to believe it.

Defensive schemes were terrible. That was on coaching.

Our last three games against conference foes were Missouri, Iowa State and Wake Forest. Very similar to ole miss in that they are middle tier p5 schools.

ole miss average recruiting rank for the past 4 years is 24......ours is 68.

Who will start at quarterback for the rebels?

Or maybe you'd prefer a comparison to 2015 when OM had a win over AL, ranked 13 & we spotted OM 14 pts & still hammered them.

They'll be the best 5-7 team in the country though! LOL. My only concern is that Ole Miss always seems to win the ones they are supposed to lose.

Schemes, tackling, positioning, desire were all lacking. D-line got better as the year went on but d-backs got worse.

We're favored because Ole Miss is way down.

That scares me too because they are probably much more motivated to win simply because they are picked to lose.

If they hurt our QB again some one should start shooting.

That is a MUCH different question than the one you posed originally.

Why are they favored? Reasonable question, answered objectively above.

Why would anyone think they should win? Troll question.
