Well, we finally have something the two SEC schools in north Mississippi are jealous of. Those two schools can't sell beer at their games.

MT started beer sales a year or two ago. You get an armband and have a four drink limit. Now they’re adding a beer garden at the end zone by the scoreboard. Guessing it’s to compensate for like NO ONE being in those seats.

It’s good to drink your way through a loss.

I saw an article that said that they couldn't get the staff trained in time for the season opener, so by time the next home game which is 9/28 they should be good to go.

Sept 28 is our second home game. The season/home opener is August 31 against an in-state FCS team that will easily be our largest home crowd of the season. Considering beer sales is new they do want to give staff enough training as gdunn mentioned but also MY GUESS is they don't want a disaster the first game trying to implement something new on short notice to give people a reason to complain about the rest of the season. After the season opener we go on the road for the next 3 so our staff/concessions/event management people can learn from the first game and get any routine issues fixed before Sept 28 when the beer sales start.

I can agree with that. Also we want this to go smoothly so it can be sold at other events...

It's been some time due to my hectic work life, but do you still have to have beer in a cup or coozie when tailgating or can you have it in the open?

Not sure on the exact answer but I feel like if you're walking around campus it has to be in a cup or coozie. If you are in a designated tailgate/tent set up area I feel like you can have it straight can/bottle.

Training the staff since it was just introduced, and USM doesn't want it to be a huge CF and not be able to do it again after that game or the season or anything.. Take the time train the staff right, and it's more than a game, season, and sport.
