And if this weekend’s tournament gets washed out from Dorian, our next 2 matches will be CAA foes. Not good.

With UNCW closed down all athletic events are cancelled. So somehow those two tournament games need to made up to hopefully boost our NCAA tournament resume if we can get this season going in the right direction.

I don't think they'll make up those games; non-conference tournaments rarely do, if ever. The Women's Soccer team hosts a tournament the following weekend so they can't just push it back a week. And I'm sure the other teams have matches lined up later on in their schedule preventing them from having makeup dates.

Ready or not, its on to CAA play, it would appear.

Agree... hope they can get things turned around before conference play.

Where does our conference rank in terms of men's and women's soccer? It seems we've had some really good teams in recent years.

For Men's Soccer, the CAA is ranked 15 out of 24 conferences in the Conference RPI rankings. Obviously its early, so that will shift over time.

Not sure where to find those rankings for prior seasons. But here's how many bids the league has gotten to the NCAA Tournament in recent years:

* 2018 (2): UNCW, JMU
* 2017 (2): UNCW, W&M
* 2016 (1): Delaware
* 2015 (2): Hofstra, Elon
* 2014 (2): UNCW, JMU
* 2013 (3): Drexel, Delaware, W&M

And CAA teams tend to have some pretty good success when they reach the NCAA Tournament. Last year JMU was one of the final 8 teams left standing, as they reached the National Quarterfinals. In 2015 both Hofstra and Elon reached the 2nd round. And we've won 3 NCAA Tournament matches in our history. All-time we're 2-3-2 officially with a PK victory over Charlotte in our first ever NCAA Tournament match in 2009.

RE: 2019 Men's Soccer Thread
As for Women's Soccer we've generally been a 1-bid league, with a few notable exceptions.

In 2015, the CAA received 4 bids (UNCW, JMU, W&M, Hofstra), with 3 of those squads reaching the 2nd round. In 2010, JMU and Hofstra made it and both reached the 2nd round. And in 2008, 3 teams made it (JMU, W&M and Northeastern), and JMU made it to the 3rd round.

Otherwise, since 2012, Women's Soccer has been dominated by NU and Hofstra. In that 7-year span, each school has 3 CAA titles. And each time that happened, the CAA was a 1-bid league.

Gabriel Perrotta starting in goal tonight against Radford. That makes it 3 different goalies in 3 games.

Three 2nd half goals give the Hawks the victory and put them back at .500 on the season

RE: 2019 Men's Soccer Thread
Hawks got a 1-1 draw on the road with the Tribe. Tribe was preseason CAA #4 while the Hawks were preseason #2. With road games at preseason #1 JMU and #3 Hofstra the men's team definitely has a tough road ahead and needs all the points they can get
