RE: NC Wesleyan (Tuesday, 7 PM)
I was glad to see Boggs shoot a few 3s tonight, he really has a nice stroke. Tolefree was aggressive and can play a role for us IF we press. He’s quick, athletic, and can cause problems in a full court defense. Hopefully, he’s becoming more comfortable on the offensive end, he looked relaxed tonight. Other than that, glad we properly handled a D3 opponent. There was never going to be much to take away from this one.

I didn't watch, but putting the hammer down and keeping a team to 50ish, is a good sign.

Gary,
I agree about Brian Tolafree with his defensive potential.

Me too. If Tolefree accepts a defensive role as a bench stopper and tries to pick his spots offensively (not force things, be a 'ball mover') then I think he can find regular minutes. He should do it soon before Gadsen gets back.

That's the kicker... If Gadsden can be the same player he was last year, that would be a huge boost. The reality of his situation is we'd be lucky to get that coming off of his surgeries. For Tolefree to be productive McGrath has to use him the full length of the court. I think you really take away from his strengths if we're primarily running a half court defense.

When Tolefree hit his 2nd three of the night, I was really tempted to announce "Dialing up from long distance, Tolefree!"

OK I'll see myself out.
