In business schools, yes. Not so sure about journalism schools. NYT basically did what they teach in most journalism schools now.

In business schools, yes. Not so sure about journalism schools. NYT basically did what they teach in most journalism schools now.

As I've mentioned before, in my freshman English class the TA asked why each of us had chosen our major. The journalism major, without a hint of guilt or irony, said "I want to manipulate people's opinions." I remember people trying to ridicule me for quoting that on another board a few years back. That was over 40 years ago.
People like her have taken over the media. Opinion overwhelms facts even in AP reports, let alone NYT or WaPo.

Donald Trump single-handedly saved the NYT from becoming just an online news source. Although I will say this, the Commercial Appeal here in Memphis costs as much as the NYT for a yearly subscription if you can take advantage of specials for the NYT. While it takes all of about 5-10 minutes to read the Gannet Rag now, the NYT is chock full of interesting stuff that isn't political in nature and can be perused for far longer.
