I could see it staying at 10-11. Penny played a lot of players last year. Cody Toppert says we have 11 guys who can play after college at various levels. Foul trouble may dictate who is in at the end of the game but if you lose one it's nice to know we have others.

Will be 7-8 in NCAA tournament. Every good coach tightens rotation. You can bring up teams that play 10 guys but they are exception rather than rule.

Absolutely. And when I'm playing, I give players s*** for coming off the bench. I give them s*** every time they check back in. Gain an edge any way you can gain an edge. This stuff matters to some. It's stupid, but it does. It's a coaching masterpiece to get guys that play at this level to buy into the team/family/group first mentality. Cal, despite his shortcomings, is a master at this. Coach K is a master at this. Penny seems to say the right things. Curious to see it play out.

Almost certainly, IMO, someone will get butt hurt about playing time, role, coming off bench. If not, that will truly be amazing. We have a lot of guys that could start for any other team in our conference. Those guys will know they're better than everyone they're on the court with every night and yet their time is still less than 30 minutes. It takes GREAT leadership to make this work. I think/hope Penny can handle it.

Plus, you absolutely cannot have projected lottery picks coming off the bench. If they do anything that might be considered damaging to draft value, all those 5 stars we are in on, start thinking about other places to go.

I think Alo is better than Boogie right now, especially on defense.

Might be possible, but no doubt Boogie has a much higher ceiling. By mid-season Boogie should be a few steps ahead of Lomax.

I also want to say, Lance Thomas has been the biggest suprise to me. Of course I heard all about how well he has been doing in practice and workouts, but I was still suprised seeing it.

I have to wonder if that will hold up once he starts playing against stiffer competition. Not going to get a lot better than going against Wiseman regularly, but Wiseman doesn't have the experience or the weight he is going to run into during the season and post-season.

Wiseman is still thin but he has put in some weight. 240

ALo is not better than Boogie in any way shape or form. The elephant in the room is that ALo and tyler are basically battling for 8/9 in the rotation and that DJ will not be starting. He is the backup 4 to Precious, Lester will start.

He's a space eater and was a top 50ish guy coming out of HS. If Dandridge redshirts and he gets eligible, he provides depth fighting with Maurice as the 4th big. If he doesn't get eligible, he provides a headstart on losing 3 frontcourt guys next year.
