As you can see in the photos and video at that link, the biggest issue with sightlines is that the Coliseum bowl is too shallow. The upper rows, especially, are too far from the field.
The chairback seating will be a big improvement. OTOH, USC will probably still place the visiting-team tickets in whatever is the new worst location.
Actually looks pretty good assuming they bring back those iconic retired jersey sections in the end zone.
Can't really fix sightlines with that design of a stadium but 77k chairbacks >>> 93k bleachers.
The Peristyle end has the bleachers, the rest of the seating bowl had chairbacks. 50% of the lost seats was due to the construction of the Scholarship Tower/Press Box. The new seats are wider than the previous ones. Seats were also lost due to the Daktronics boards added the east end of the seating bowl.
