Can’t believe it was 2011. Feels like a few years ago.

I was listening to Finebaum the day this nitwit called in and bragged about it. I can’t believe he failed to make it right. He got a break and abused it.

Finebaum egged the guy on for 2 months prior to the poisoning and then acted shocked that one of his unstable cling-ons actually did something stupid and illegal. Updyke had called in occasionally expressing his hatred for Auburn and Finebaum would blow him off by essentially questioning his manhood and idle threats, much the same way Finebaum egged on feuds between callers where they would call one another out. After Newton's Tigers beat the Tide in Tuscaloosa he finally sought to be a hero on the Finebaum show and used Spike D80 (think highway right of way industrial strength round up) to be spiteful and destructive. Finebaul is just lucky no murder was committed.

In my opinion the one who is getting to skate here big time is Finebaum himself and now ESPN encourages the Jerry Springer atmosphere for 4 hours a day and none of it is reflective of the actual alumni of the SEC's 14 member schools.

The whole damned thing is disgusting and Updyke is just a dirt poor redneck who knew at the sentencing he couldn't repay the damages and have enough left to live on. He should have gotten jail time.

You obviously know more about this than I do, I just occasionally listen to him, and you live in that region, I believe.

They had to dig up the trees they replanted. The Spike D80 is that toxic. All of the site was dug up and new soil brought in and we have some young trees there now. It will take over 100 years before it looks again like it once did and the new trees aren't exactly in the same location.
