The slimy c***s***** who played the Mayor of Deadwood, E.B. Barnum was actually William Sanderson who was born and raised in Memphis and holds a business and law degree from Memphis State. I had just streamed Deadwood and Amazon Prime has a cool feature where can can pause it and it gives you pics and bios of everyone in the scene.

He has had a much more varied acting career than I would have thought. Info from Wiki:

A little light post to lift spirits of Deadwood fans (those who can stand the foul language) as he was entertaining and disgusting in that role at the same time.

Great show. I haven’t watched the movie yet because I want to watch the series again. In my younger days I would have a bottle Jack and shot glass and take a shot whenever someone did it in the show. I got wasted fast.

I didn't read that I don't need to. Sanderson can be tough, funny (my other borther Daryl) or dramatic. His character usually sets the others up. Like in the the best SciFi movie of all time. His characters physical limitations set up the final scene. In what is the most iconic SciFi movie of all time...

Sanderson moved to Pennsylvania but “And now Sanderson will tell you that Deadwood "is probably my last hurrah." Maybe. He did just have a role in a recent episode of American Gods. I would think he is a Tiger fan being he played sports early.

He went to law school with my dad. They had a 20 year reunion which included going to the MSU-Tulsa football game. I hung out with him for like an hour before the game. He said he’d send me an autographed photo if I sent him one. I mailed him one the next day and about 2 weeks later I got a signed headshot with him from Newhart and a two page handwritten letter. Can’t emphasize what a nice guy he is.
