RE: For those of you who were able to see practice today
Something tells me both Bowers and Childers will play this year. I really worry about Bowers thumb.

Regardless of who starts, it's been a very long time since we've had such strong competition at QB. This is first time in awhile where the QB play has been strong across the board. Even going back to Hare, Macintosh and Maddie, reports coming out of camp were not glowing.

I hope you are right and that Bowers is really good but Childers also propped up his game. Remember the old saying that if you have two quarterbacks you have no quarterback. Hopefully it’s because NOT because neither are star worthy

Did you expect Bowers to show up on campus and be named the starter on day 1? Even Jalen Hurts had to “compete” for the job at Oklahoma. Hunter Johnson is “competing” for his job at Northwestern right now. Childers won the MAC last year, he earned a shot to compete.

We’ll obviously see on Bowers, but I don’t think saying if you have two QBs you have non applies here. It’s been Bowers job since he announced his transfer.

Childers was adequate last year. Carey gone so fresh start plus 1 year more experience. If Bowers better, this is a good thing. Quality and quantity of QB will be better

In Bowers' last season as a starter, he had 21 "Big-Time Throws" (as defined by PFF) for Cal. I assume that's probably the highest on the active roster, but just a guess.

Speaking of transfers. BG Doege transferred and now isn't a starter at WVU.

Great to hear about Childers!

Are they sleeping on Pugh? When healthy he is beast mode.

The LBs will be a strength for this team.
