Coach Bollinger and 6’7 Sean Cusano of Big Stone Gap, VA are now following each other (as are Bollinger and Team Rogue, Cusano’s AAU team). Cusano was named VHSCA group 2A 1st Team All State and his school Union HS won the state championship this year. Cusano recently had followed Coaches Fischer and Boatner.

He is improving nicely. I wasn't a big fan of his game before, but he is certainly one to track. With the transfer crazy spring we've had, I was a little surprised that Burke wasn't in the portal. Worth monitoring next off-season when the Smith Brothers could be a package deal.
This points to an issue 08 and I have talked about and something that's been going on for years. Do we even recruit Virginia? Which coach is responsible? Maybe it was because of Kemp, but we've had a much better hit rate in the Midwest than we do in our backyard. This extends back to the previous staff as well. I know there is much greater saturation of high/mid majors schools in our region, but sheesh.

I think Bollinger may take over VA recruiting. For example: Team Rogue followed Coach Fischer but later Bollinger followed them, not Fischer. Sean Cusano followed Coaches Fischer and Boatner but Bollinger later followed him, not the two other coaches. Jason Kemp leaving has shifted which assistant covers what area and hopefully that won’t hinder any of the relationships already in place as the assistants feel out their new territories.

Kaden Brown liked Coach Boatner’s retweet of Coach Bollinger’s promotion. Brown was second team all state for division II as a SO.

Coach Boatner and 6’10 Luke McEldon of Ashburn, VA (Oak Hill, Team Loaded) are now following each other. McEldon holds an offer from Central Arkansas.

Phenom Hoop Report wrote in February:

“ a traditional, big-bodied big that can play at the 4 or 5 position. He displays really soft hands, can take up space but also moves well, running the floor, and is very agile on the court. McEldon is also very coachable, wants to learn, and picks up concepts really well and quickly.”
