Arkansas
Mississippi St
Tennessee

Absolutely & they ought to be the rotation H&H in FB & MBB too.

That's because you don't work in an office building or job site actually IN Memphis, so you don't have a bunch of jackasses looking down their noses at you over the water cooler. When you live and work here, the condescension is palpable.

Anyone who lets a TN fan speak down on the Tigers now doesn’t have a good turn of speech or wit.

Agree on all counts except 1: Tony Harris.
Listen to Keith Easterwood's podcast with Tony and your view will change, as did mine. When he starts talking about Larry and his recruitment, your eyes will sweat I guarantee.

That isnt what Penny says. He is also an ex-player.
What can he say? TN don’t mean shite to us given as how they usually aren’t good enough to go to tournament? True rivalries take years to build. Media has tried to build this one. I doubt most Tigers fans would include them in top 5 rivals if asked to name 5.
We should play UT in football/basketball every year. I don’t understand why people on here don’t want this. It’s a good thing for both programs.

We just aren't stuck in the 90s. There's no rivalry. We've barely played in the last 20 years.
They are no different than any other SEC school. We just share a state with those entitled brats.
Those monsters don't do anything for us. Maybe we can play them when these numbers are equal.
University of Memphis: 117,771,000
UT Knoxville: 231,382,200
Until then, honestly. I don't care.
Please excuse my ignorance, but what do those numbers represent?

What sport? Football - sure if it's H/H. Different story if it's 2/1. Basketball - meh.
And, do you say this solely about getting an attendance bump from their fans, or some other reason?

Some of that doesn't add up though. If he really wanted to be home and play for the Tigers, and he really didn't know deals were cut behind his back, then why didn't he transfer? Some of that story today sounds like convenient revisionist history.

Transfers seemed to be a bit more complicated back then. According to Tony, he was told Memphis never offered him and had no interest. Also, once his family was paid, I could imagine him feeling obligated and stuck.
Also (I am not sure how much stock you may put into what Easterwood says) Easterwood has backed up his story and has claimed to have watched it all unfold and there was nothing he could do about it.
