RE: Fulmer Open to UM/UT Series
I have to wonder if some of those who are so negative about the UTK game are also those who never miss a chance to throw out how we beat them that one time a few decades ago....

When you win and you put people in the NFL, it takes a lot of the glow off that orange.

If the Vols want to win again they need to feed Saban some incriminating information on the Clintons.

Or make it easier, simply ask him to comment about the trump incriminating stuff. He can read

Yew Tay should schedule Memphis for a 3 game series in Football and Basketball. For Football Memphis at home then neutral in Nashville then Yew Tay at home. Reverse that for Basketball. No cancellation without both teams approval. Team that cancels can only delay and must then play two games away. Put it in the contract let them decide if they are willing to play us or if they are just blowhards.

You really like that UTK owns the series in basketball?

Also, you actually would rather play UT-Chat over UTK? Ok, then...

I want to play them every season forever.

Ex players say TN not a rival to them and TN always got very jacked for the game and they didn’t.
That isnt what Penny says. He is also an ex-player.

What can he say? TN don’t mean shite to us given as how they usually aren’t good enough to go to tournament? True rivalries take years to build. Media has tried to build this one. I doubt most Tigers fans would include them in top 5 rivals if asked to name 5.

We should play UT in football/basketball every year. I don’t understand why people on here don’t want this. It’s a good thing for both programs.

Not on the basis on past FB series where they pick and choose the year to play us. Even in basketball they started a long run playing us when we were down a little but Penny, Vaughn, Lorenzen, Cedric, etc came along shortly thereafter but they weren’t our rivals then.

Vanderbilt is in good hands with Derek Mason at the helm and Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt should get the Vols turn around at some point. We just aren't stuck in the 90s. There's no rivalry. We've barely played in the last 20 years.

They are no different than any other SEC school. We just share a state with those entitled brats.

Those monsters don't do anything for us. Maybe we can play them when these numbers are equal.

University of Memphis: 117,771,000
UT Knoxville: 231,382,200

Until then, honestly. I don't care.

Are those counts of school mentions in TN football series threads this year?

Mostly football, but even playing SEC basketball teams is something most of us want to do and need to do.

Fulmer will set that series up as soon as we suck again. UT Knoxville is a bunch of cowards. Even in the setup of the current basketball series, it screams pu$$y foot on their part. Not coming back to Memphis next season, when we’ll really be rolling. Making it a neutral site instead.

Say what you will about Ole Miss football, but at least they play us regardless of how good or bad we are.

Hate it or not, but it’s good for us to play. They are in the state and in the SEC.....until we start playing them and beating them, then we will always be an outlier in our own state. Not to mention it would really help recruiting....especially in Nashville.
