Feds to probe whether Conn. transgender athlete policy violated girls' civil rights
Quote:The U.S. Department of Education is investigating whether Connecticut’s allowance of two transgender athletes to participate in track has violated the civil rights of three of the girls they consistently beat to the finish line.

The Office of Civil Rights, under Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, has approved a request from a federal complaint filed in Boston to investigate whether Connecticut’s non-discrimination policy, which enables students to participate in sports based on their gender preference, is itself discriminatory against girls.

The announcement was made in a news release from Alliance Defending Freedom, the plaintiffs’ counsel.

An Education Department representative confirmed the investigation Thursday night, stating in an email, “OCR cannot provide additional information about the investigations, confirm details about the cases, or provide a timeline for the completion of the investigations.”

In June, ADF lawyers filed the request over alleged Title IX discrimination against the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference. The three plaintiffs — all high school girls — say they’ve lost out on medals and advancement opportunities in high school track for two years because two competitors who were born male have an unfair, biological advantage over them.

CIAA has maintained in multiple interviews their participation policy is determined by state law, which prohibits discrimination based on gender identity.

It's about time someone tries to put a stop to this stupidity.

The answer is so simple but I'm sure it will get wrapped up in politics.

About time.....

Conn. high school girls file lawsuit arguing that allowing transgender athletes to compete is sex discrimination

Snippet:

Quote:Three female high school athletes in Connecticut, along with their families, filed a federal lawsuit Thursday to prevent transgender athletes from competing in girls track and field meets, arguing that biologically male athletes have a physical advantage. The three are arguing that competing against biologically male athletes has denied them the chance to win medals and achieve scholarship opportunities.

All three plaintiffs have competed with, and almost always placed behind, two transgender sprinters, Terry Miller and Andraya Yearwood. Mitchell finished third in the 2019 state championship in the girls 55-meter indoor track competition behind Miller and Yearwood. The two Connecticut high school seniors, who were born biologically male but identify as female, have won 15 girls state indoor or outdoor championship races combined since 2017, the lawsuit said.

I mean yeah it's not fair and potentially dangerous to have trans girls competing against biologically born girls. I think you should be able to make that argument without being accused of being "transphobic" and this is the stuff that disgusts me so much about the "SJW" wing of the left. Plenty of them would call anyone a bigot for raising this question/concern. The SJW wing of the Dems lost their damn minds when Rogan endorsed Bernie and he didn't hide from it in large part because Rogan is very anti trans women people able to fight against biological women in MMA. I agree with Rogan on that even though I support a trans persons (or any person for that matter) to be able to live their life however they want as long as they are not physically harming anyone.

Some would say those two statements conflict with one another.
