A defense of leftist of Boycotts
https://slate.com/business/2019/08/soulc...lated.html

I was curious about the argument. Not as ridiculous as a lot, but still pretty weak.

Makes false assumptions (president hostile to their rights), ignores ancillary damage (guy is a minor owner) and doesn't address the value of political freedom, only assuming everybody who doesn't think like you do is engaging in "bad" behavior.

"...But on the other hand, who cares? Ross could stand to profit if Equinox is ever sold or manages to have an IPO. And if LGBTQ customers don’t want to pay $200 or so a month for a gym part-owned by a guy trying to re-elect a president who is hostile to their rights, they shouldn’t. There are lots of places, after all, to go ride a stationary bike. This kind of Twitter activism might seem desultory and silly. But it’s a reasonable way to enforce the social and political norms people claim to hold dear...."

Hey Bullet I agree 100% with you. We here on this site are always saying that we will boycott this and that company and we do because of some Liberal crap they pull. The American Commie Party has the same right but they SHOULD remember, as in the Chik-Fil-A boycott by the Commies it backfired Yugely.

In defense of our Commies ours don't wear uniforms per se, they wear pink hats or in instances of violence, all black with face coverings.

Voting with your wallet is for Nazis now?

This is pretty low-level trolling even for an alt-righter.

Alt-righter? I'm a moderate and voting for Tulsi in the primary. Oh that's right, she's alt-right as well and Putin's puppet, I always have to remember to consider the source.

And yes, democrats are bringing us down the same road as 1930's Germany. Obsessing over who owns everything you buy, and refusing to do business with anyone that disagrees with you on politics is mental illness.

Hey Kronke, if you're called an alt-righter that's not a bad thing. Let me tell you why. If the Demons have gone full Leftwing then if you're an alt-righter that'll place you right in the middle, you know where Billy Bob Clinton used to be.

Bill Clinton looks like Captain Normal compared to these Dems today. Or at least his term as POTUS.

I actually kind of like Tulsi and am considering voting for her in the primaries, but cool story. Just because the alt-right has some weird obsession with her because she's hot and they like her foreign policy doesn't make her a terrible candidate. Just know you're voting for Medicare for all (a serious reservation of mine) among several other so called leftist positions.

BTW I don't assume the entire alt-right is a complete hive mind. Calling people NPCs is y'all's meme. I've seen plenty from you to justify the label.

The boycotting in the pursuit of "ethical consumption" is pretty pie-in-the-sky and the article even admits as much, but going straight to the Nazi card is just absurd. Par for the course, though. Keep sniveling away.

So I'm wrong even when I'm right and you agree with me. You aren't playing with a full deck.

Naming and shaming, which inevitably leads to harassing and the way things are escalating, violence -- is a fascist tactic. One of the business owners in San Antonio has already received 25 threatening phone calls from castro's doxxing.

So I'm wrong even when I'm right and you agree with me. You aren't operating with a full deck.

Naming and shaming, which inevitably leads to harassing and the way things are escalating, violence -- is a fascist tactic. One of the business owners in San Antonio has already received 25 threatening phone calls from castro's doxxing.

When did I say you were wrong about your primary preferences? Being a weirdo internet troll and spamming alt-right memes doesn't make every opinion you hold automatically wrong. That's like day 1 sh-t. I swear the echo chamber about "leftists" on this board is rotting some people's brains.

Castro outing donors was a prick move undoubtedly, and I've never understood why political donations above a threshold have to be public to begin with. And obviously anyone making threatening phone calls are off their rocker. Thanks for the non-sequitur though.

Boycotts have been done by both sides, usually with limited effect. Remember burning shoes? Was that "inciting violence" towards Kaepernick or Nike management? Are conservatives Nazis because they encourage people not to buy Gillette?

You're posting this sh-t because you think your buddies here will circlejerk with you about it. Sorry to call you out on your BS Nazi card, brah.

My comparison obviously struck a nerve with how accurate it is, and you are lashing out.

What memes did I even post in this thread, much less “alt-right” ones? Do you even know what a meme is?

Didn't say you did it in this thread. Have you never posted memes on this board? I didn't just see you post for the first time.

Why would that allegation even come up then?

You just randomly go around accusing people of being alt-right? And I’m the weirdo? K.

The boycott is because they support the other party. In other words, boycotting about half the population. That's going straight to Nazi.

"Ethical consumption" is boycotting somebody because they use plastic bottles. Or because they get their supplies from deforesting the Amazon. This is just an anti-American political boycott. And they don't care if its 10% of the owners. Its very Nazi.

Alt-right means anybody to the right of George Pataki. Anti-Trumpers like George Will get an exclusion.

Its kind of like racist. It has become meaningless with its use by progressives. They are trying to "de-normalize" mainstream thought, basically the entire Republican Party, most independents and a considerable portion of Democrats.

Don't play dumb. You have 28,000 posts on this site, I think people can figure out your ideology.

Also, don't be afraid to actually address a point now and then.
