Cleaver asked the Treasury Department to label the El Paso shooter a “Specially Designated Global Terrorist.”

Cleaver said far-right extremism is increasing in the United States and noted testimony in July by FBI Director Christopher Wray that white supremacy is behind a rise in domestic terrorism.

"The growing threat of white nationalist violent extremism can no longer be ignored,” Cleaver said in a statement. “As the leader of the nation and all Americans, it is incumbent on the President to protect Muslims, Jews, immigrants, and other minorities from white nationalists," he said. "By formally labeling this individual a terrorist, it allows the Treasury, State, and Justice Departments to use the full set of tools at their disposal to attack this problem head on, which is exactly what this President should be doing.”

My sincere concern with this is that we live in a culture now where "racist, white nationalist, etc" are thrown around at such a whim and there's not any absolute that defines someone as such. Making it incredibly simple for some snot nosed brat from down the street or even a family member to "report" someone and then all of a sudden there's a knock at your door.

I am in no way, shape or form anything close to a racist or white nationalists as so loosely defined by the left. I love my country. I love my fellow Americans. I love my liberal, conservative and apolitical friends. I love my friends of many races and ethnicities. However, not even a couple months ago, one of my wife's "woke" cousins openly called me a white nationalist on my fb wall. He was immediately called out and scorned by many of my actual friends and family, but that's to my point. This kid, a self-proclaimed democratic socialist decided to try and just label someone because they disagree politically. Dangerous people like that are frothing at the mouth for a legislation exactly like this from Rep. Cleaver (D).

It's shameful that our elected representatives don't know, understand or even reflect on enough world history to understand how dangerous his proposal is.

The cries of racist and white nationalist are the Democrats McCarthyism and the right needs to be framing the leaders who cry that for what they are, fear mongers with an agenda.

MSNBC had a news segment early this morning that raised the possibility that the so called Russian hackers are using Twitter and Facebook to spread racial hatred in order to drive a divide among our people. I'm sorry they just briefly floated this idea rather than giving an in depth analysis of it. (I was just shocked I heard it on MSNBC.)

This former Methodist minister turned Representative from Kansas City is at ground zero of a left wing organizing group in Kansas City. I wouldn't be shocked if he was involved because they recruit among the clergy since getting one clergy person often gives their aims credibility at least to the congregation that he/she might represent.

Their intrusion into mainline protestant churches is rather involved and the funding they receive from those denominations would shock church goers. We are talking millions.

And yes these people want an arbitrary list because if things intensify and they were to regain political power in D.C. those lists may then be used, along with existing laws from 9/11 and the HSA to give them the right to confiscate assets, and imprison without due process, those they merely claim to be terrorists. That kind of power is right out of the Stalin era.

People need to realize that this isn't just an annoyance. It is a threat. Antifa is nothing more than brown shirts or Mao's Red Guard. The Squad and this Representative are Nazis in the Reichstag. And the media is their corporate backing.

It really shouldn't be taken lightly and again if you want to know where you start to clean this up then start at your local public school where the themes of this organization are being taught to your children. I really can't reinforce this enough. Without a preconditioned audience via education and entertainment they will never have the compliant groundswell they need to access and keep power.

Was reading August 18 National Geographic today and their current editor just went over the top. First article she interviews Susanna Huffington (Huff Post) as an "expert" on sleep because she wrote a sleep self-help book once (there was a scientific article on sleep later in the magazine).
