If he was good enough last year, they would have found minutes for him.

In that Coleby sat behind a 5 star center at Kansas and Smith sat behind a 5 star center at WKU... yes, I do think they are remotely similar.

Actually Landon Lucas started at center for Kansas. And Azuibuike backed him up.

Coleby then moved down conferences and was pretty solid at the lower level. Big difference from a guy that couldn't find minutes on a non top 100 team supposedly starting for hundreds of teams.

Tolu Smith has been hearing from several SEC teams (Arkansas, LSU, Texas A&M) as well as West Virginia. He might not start for those teams as a redshirt sophomore, but he would damn sure start for the bottom half of D1 right now. That is well over 100 teams.

He may start in time. What we do know is that he did not start for a team that was almost bottom half of D1 last year.

Nice try at a dig there. I'll agree we had a disappointing season based on expectations, but we still finished 113 out of 353 D1 teams in the NCAA NET Rankings. ODU edged us out at 101. That's more Top 1/3 than bottom 1/2. By the way, not a single team finished in the Top 100 from C-USA last year. What I am saying is that this coming season Tolu would start (if illegible) for at least 100 teams from 180-353.

RE: CUSA Basketball Transfers
Before Bassey returned Smith was a sure starter on the preseason top CUSA team. In my opinion would have started on the other 13 CUSA teams. So now you only need 86 others.

I wouldnt let what Gilesfan said bother me....

you can say BigRed is a top 100 mascot and since its Western he would argue and say. No. Hell he probably still thinks Bassey wont be eligible. Or Hennssy Auriantal isnt his guardian.

Other words he has a hardon for anything Western

Matt Horton has decided to come back to WKU to back Bassey up now that Tolu Smith is leaving. So you can take Horton off the transfer list as he is back after spending the summer elsewhere.

Eli Wright formerly of Mississippi St and most recently St. John’s has transferred to WKU. Wright is an Owensboro native and former 4 star recruit. He spent 2 seasons at Miss. State before transferring to St. John’s last year. He sat out all of last year, but since St. John’s changed coaches this offseason he is able to transfer and play immediately. Wright’s addition makes 7 Kentucky born and raised players on the roster.

.
Nice pick up in Wright apparently. Somewhat concerned about his stats at Miss St. 13 minutes a game, 3 ppg. and 21% from 3 in 2017-18 that doesn't correlate to the #65 player in the ESPN top 100.
We need another big, not another 2. Hopefully can be a decent 8th or 9th option. Horton's name is not on the official roster still but Smith is still there.

Smith gone now, good luck to him at LSU...

UTRV used to be Texas Pan American who we were in Sun Belt with for a little while in mid 90s....Should be a spot where Marek can play a lot of minutes...
