And you'll probably sh*t on him seven years from now when that inevitably doesn't happen.

Maybe he can convince some of the big Florida boosters he has relationships with to become two school fans.

Rudd on Jason and John said he wanted someone with a national profile. Maybe this keeps Memphis in the conversation more than a RC Johnson's brochure.

There are only 7-8 teams we should do 2 for 1s with. G5 top teams (AAC of course, Norte Dame, BYU, Boise St, SDSU, etc). After a couple of years of not playing P5s but playing good schedules, the P5 May stop thinking other schools are there purely for their benefit.

Seems like a good hire and he smiles unlike Bowen's sour puss butt.

You don't think we should be doing 2 for 1's with Notre Dame? What's wrong with you? The answer to your question is (of course) no. He is his normal self.

RE: New AD hired
This is very good.

And yes, in putting Memphis interests first would be very surprised if he does not push for games with Florida.

Make full use of his relationship with Stricklin.

2 games in Gainesville or 1 in Gainesville and one in Orlando (that would stick it to UCF to have the highest attended game in Orlando be Memphis v. Florida) for an opportunity for FL to play in the Liberty Bowl, which they last did in 1989.

KState great as well, but not 2/1.

Basketball series speaks for itself.

I think a home-and-home with Kansas State should be fairly straightforward.

Then again, we really put ourselves in a box by having a freaking buy game at Purdue.

RE: New AD hired
Only time will tell if this is a good hire or not. On paper, it looks to be a very good hire. At least we have someone who has experience with major college sports. Who knows how to be big time and how to act as if you are big time.

It is a different mindset. Should be a breath of fresh air. He comes from a school which refuses one for one home games with what they consider a lesser school, even though it had played in access bowl the previous two years. While we are playing home and home with schools which did not even have a football team 10 years ago.

Tried to warn people from day 1 that Bowen had a small school mentality.

The program will survive that game, win or lose.

As did I. We are looking at several more years of his screwed up FB scheduling. That’s why I think Penny should handle basketball scheduling. He said he would play anyone, anywhere (within reason). Most ADs will try to overschedule Buy games when revenue is what its going to be next few years. Pastner proved that didn’t prepare the team for the tournament.

RE: New AD hired
Basketball HCs everywhere have a lot more say in scheduling than football HCs do.
