WHy would anybody keep Geno Smith? You know he's bad. At least with Paxton you could try to believe he'll develop.

Because Smith has experience in the league and they know what they have. With Paxton they are not sure what they have. In the NFL if your 2nd team QB is 'developing' you are in trouble. Developing players are on the practice team.
