Moore went 71 of 122 (58%) for 837 yds (6.9 ypa) with 4 tds and 4 ints last year. In junior college.
White went 246 of 392 (63%) for 3,296 yds (8.4 ypa) with 26 tds and 9 ints.

How was Moore better?

But Moore is going to get to play for Jim McElwain this year, so let's see how he does. (David, don't go deep sea fishing with coach.)

Split whites numbers versus good and bad competition. I'm not arguing Moore is better but White's stat line is insanely misleading.

Moore was playing freaking JUCOs and you want to break down White's competition.

Get a grip.

Um, you really said that? Did you ever see a game Moore played on a running team that wouldn’t make Tom Brady look good. I do believe in Memphis offense Moore’s numbers would have been similar, and our record 1 game better because we would have beaten Navy; and to complete the reversal conspiracy, not sure White could have done any better with that judo team. No way to prove it; but you guys wouldn’t want that anyway ?

You missed the fact that Moore was playing against juco teams. I believe every D White played against is better than a juco D - even UConn.

right, and his coaches, offensive line, WR, and RBs were better than a JUCOs too. It's not qb versus defense in a vacuum

All I know is that Brady White is our starting quarterback and Moore is not on the team.

07-coffee3 Go Brady White !!!!! He is our starting QB and we need to wait for the season to start and see how he plays before conjecturing how good or bad he will play. I know there is not much to discuss on the board right now but let's not start finding fault before the kid even plays a game. How did any of us perform on our jobs the first year as opposed to our performance in later years with experience. I believe in our coach and staff for making the best decision at every position rather than us sitting on our couches thinking we have all of the answers. Good Grief, Charlie Brown !!!!!!!!!!

RE: Brady McBride BOH
Here is some information on David Moore signing with CENTRAL MICHIGAN from the CM website.

Central Michigan Football announced the signing of David Moore from Garden City Community College today.

Moore is a 6-2, 200-pound quarterback who will be a junior next season for the Chippewas. He is immediately eligible.

"David is a very cerebral quarterback who can make plays with his arms or his legs," head coach Jim McElwain said. "He's someone that has great feel for the game and a knack for making plays. While he has the ability to scramble, he's very comfortable in the pocket and has impressive arm talent that allows him to make every throw."

Moore earned first team all-conference honors this season as he led his squad to the NJCAA national title game and a 10-1 record. He threw for 837 yards on 71-of-122 passing and four touchdowns this past season. Moore also had five rushing touchdowns.

The Alpharetta, Georgia native spent the 2016-17 seasons at Memphis, playing in five games for the Tigers in 2017. Moore had 63 yards on 7-of-10 passing with one TD that year and also rushed for 47 yards on eight carries. He played his high school ball at Milton High School, tallying 39 touchdowns his final season.

As are the defenses and defensive coaches. At juco, talent can much more easily dominate a game. As the competition increases, the ability for one person to dominate a game diminishes. It's a fact. If you're a high talent qb it is much easier to dominate juco - regardless of surrounding talent - than it is to dominate D1. The fact that Moore was mediocre in juco should tell you all you need to know if you are a true Memphis fan.

Besides it's not like the stats are even close. There is no comparison. White is a legit starting D1 qb, and Moore is a legit backup.

You guys carrying this torch are missing the reality.

First, I didn't like Brady McBride leaving simply because I was hoping to see him play sometime. Early last season he played a few series and looked like he had a good arm and was willing to tuck and run.

Second, I have no issue with Brady White. Overall he had a nice season last year. I know ppl will quibble of details but his results must be better than the majority of P5 QBs. Sure I would like to see him run a bit more but am willing to give me another year on that. By run I simply mean enough to keep the D honest and to pickup 4-5 yards here and there. Seems like a good guy so I'm pulling for him and the team.

We can't risk have BW running the ball. He will end up getting injured. And now that the teams #2 QB is gone, that will mean we will have a guy who was the third string guy being put into the starting role. That won't go well.

White needs to look better than last year to prove me wrong, and what I’m hearing he’s not.

Do you think CMN has anything at stake here? Worked his whole life....many many hours...for this moment. You think he's willing to sacrifice winning in order to show favortism for a QB. Are you high? CMN wants to win. He'll play the best guy. Period. Your entire conspiracy theory shows zero thought.

Work out the kinks and come back. Better yet, don't.

In line with the "I would have been a pro had my high school coach just played me but didn't because he did not like me".

Coaches make a living playing the players that give them the best chance to win. They do not sit future pros and they do not play QBs because that is their guy.

And at the end of the day both of these guys are Norvell's recruits. White is simply the better QB and earned the right to keep his place as starter...

It's happened before...coaches crapping on a QB. See Jerry Glanville of Atlanta Falcons and Brett Favre

Favre was a rookie and...
Favre's first pass in an NFL regular season game resulted in an interception returned for a touchdown in a game against the Washington Redskins. He only attempted four passes in his career at Atlanta, was intercepted twice, and completed none of them. Favre took one other snap, which resulted in a sack for an eleven-yard loss.

He only became a stater in Green Bay after the #1 QB went down with an injury so that is some revisionist history on your part. And lots of QBs go on to have great careers but do not start as rookies, that is not unusual at all...

Glanville took an instant dislike to Favre. (Favre's rookie agent didn't help matters any)
The Falcons swooped Glanville up. In his introductory press conference, he was asked about the terms of his contract. He had no idea. The uniform and helmet colors went from primarily red to primarily black. He encouraged Rison and Sanders to dance. “He was the ultimate players’ coach in many ways,” says Ken Herock, then Atlanta’s VP of player personnel. “He bulls—s with the players, he has fun with the players. But if he didn’t like you, or he didn’t want you around, it was a different thing entirely.”

From the day he checked into camp, Favre was an object of Glanville’s derision. Their opening exchange said it all.

Glanville: “Hey, Mississippi!”

Favre: “Hey, Coach, how are you doing?”

Glanville: “Call me Jerry.”

Favre: “O.K. Hey, Jerry.”

Glanville: “What school are you from, Mississippi?”

Favre: “Southern Miss.”

Glanville: “Aw, damn, we drafted the wrong guy. We wanted the guy from Mississippi State.”

“I was standing next to Brett,” says George Koonce, a rookie free-agent linebacker, “and I remember the look on his face was devastation.”

https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/bret...ers-101816

there are so many horror stories that could be written about Jerry Glanville...it would take years to read them all.

Mike Homgren used to be San Fran's OC. He had worked out Favre years before...so he knew the gifts that Favre had.

Exactly which QB that has left has been better than White? Davis is a solid D1aa QB and Moore got benched at the juco level.

make a note of anyone who claims that Moore was/is better than White, it will tell you how to regard any opinion they voice in the future.

Paxton Lynch knew the playbook better than Favre. He was just a kid with a cannon and a will to win. Who knew at the time he'd be what he is now?

Farve was never given a shot in Atlanta.
His coach told him that all of the other QBs would have to be hurt for him to play.
That's the kind of guy that Glanville was.
The player they drafted with the draft pick they received in the trade with Green Bay?
Wasn't a defensive back (RB I think)...and that kid never played either.
A year after that...he was out of football altogether.

I will be the first to admit that Farve bore some responsibility for his actions.
But if my head coach told me on the first day that he had no use for me..and at every opportunity belittled my existence..I might have become a partyer too.
Funny tho...why was Green Bay able to rein him in..and Atlanta couldn't/wouldn't?

I wish him all the best. To me, if he can't improve in the offseason and become the starting QB, and, can't handle being the 2nd String, we don't need him. I want a QB who is hungry and looks at not being a starter as an opportunity for them to work even harder.

he didn't play much for us...so it would be hard for us to tell you what kind of player he is.
No one can measure drive or heart...and that is what makes players good or great.
