Maybe we can sneak father Oppenheimer into a game and let him rain 3's yo. If he can shoot, we can use him.

Oh FFS. The only reason I comment on it at all is that almost every other team has released theirs by now. And may I remind you that classes start next week? 05-nono

Another new assistant coach hire, Ryan Kardok.

Grad assistant at Miami under Jim Larranaga from 2013-15, and has been Director of BBall Ops at Bowling Green the last three seasons. Welcome, Coach!

Glad that Rowe filled out his staff and I think the two changes are positive.

RE: Basketball staff changes
Another new addition to the staff. Dee Vick has joined as a QC Coordinator. Vick has a LONG history of head coaching experience, and was previously on Tony Shaver's staff at W&M. Many on here have stated that HCLR needs someone on his staff with previous HC experience, and now it looks like he has finally hired one with a history of winning and recruiting well.

RE: Basketball staff changes
Interesting pick up. It would have been much more fun if we plucked Shaver for an assistant role after he got canned. I guess we will have to settle for one of his former assistants.

How much does the QC coordinator get paid? Seems like he has been in better roles during his career as an assistant and head coach.
It looks like he got fired from DIII Hampden-Sydney after going 4-19 last year on the heels of going 6-20 the previous year.

Two thoughts- my guess is quality control may have been pushed on Rowe and it’s good to see and also Jmu is likely spending more on assistants this year. Up that budget now in preparation for a big jump (if needed) in the future.

It looks like he got fired from DIII Hampden-Sydney after going 4-19 last year on the heels of going 6-20 the previous year.

8 of his 11 years (until 2017) were reasonably good, with one really good year in 2013. It's curious why they went downhill the past 3 years. He was Hampden Sydney's 2nd most winningest coach in over 100 years.

The places he was an assistant prior to that all seemed to perform well. If we can get similar results it would be a good step forward (NIT, CAA championship game, etc).

Yes, it would be interesting to know what happened. It looks like the wheels came off the bus. I know Dee Vick’s name in the college basketball community, but I don’t know much else. What little attention I pay to DIII is usually spent on Christopher Newport.
