Totally respect calling last year's title a "defense-heavy magic trick".

Also, it's adorable they think we have boosters who could push a coach out.

Not a very optimistic outlook for us. 5-6 wins and 4% chance of winning conference. Let’s prove them wrong.

5-6???? That's hilarious! If we have dynamite QB play I expect 10 wins...

I hope we can. We have a very tough non-conference (three P5s on the road) and conference schedule, since not only do we play in the much tougher of the MAC divisions but we also have crossovers with what are expected to be the top 2 MAC East teams (Ohio and Miami) on the road. If we get 8-9 wins I'd say Hammock had a heck of a first season!

They played an even tough non conference last year, won 8 games and the MAC, and you still hated Carey.

I would almost guarantee Carey does not last more than 3 years at Temple. The big thing Carey left the program in much WORSE shape than it was when he started. That is always the barometer that should be used. I also think this year's non conference is more difficult than last year. Florida State ended up being horrid and I think Nebraska is much better than last year's FSU team and a top 25 caliber team, BYU is on par with Vanderbilt probably, and Utah is obviously a better team this year, and NIU goes there this year. It is a completely new offense, offensive line needs to be rebuilt, you lose best defensive player in NIU history, there is uncertainty at QB, a 5 or 6 win season would be successful.

Epa your Carey hate obsession was not only annoying to this board but disturbing. No one has forgot that.

Please don't go down this road. No one wants to argue this BS 3 weeks before the season starts.

I'd make 6.5 the over/under. The offense will improve more than the defense will slip. I'm expecting 7 wins. With some good fortune 8.

That’s fine but it’s hilarious you describe Carey’s last season as a “heck of a first season” for Hammock.

And it would be, FYI. I’m not disagreeing.

I'm guessing you don't have much in the way of resources, so maybe he'll do better here with a bit more to work with. Either way, he's been a clear upgrade over Geoff Clown Collins.

EDIT: And for as bad as we've been in our history, you'd have to go back to 1955 for the last time a head football coach at Temple didn't last 4 years, excluding those who left for other head coaching positions. That coach was CFB HOF Josh Cody.

If they work, I don't care. Nothing we didn't have before under Addazio and Collins.

The thing is the defense will notice after a couple times and will be all over it. It’s just bad offensive thinking.

Carey doesn't need many resources, not even a quarterback really.

You should be proud of your team, Temple has come so far and is now. SOLID program. Very tough out, Carey should do fine for you.
