2019 Football Training Camp Thread
3 days of training camp already done, and I know people have already started talking about it on the off season thread. I was figuring the off season thread should be from Dec-July, and 3 week training camp was worthy of its own thread. But if people want to keep the training camp talk on the big off season thread, so be it.

On Madia's notes, he was talking about the emergence of Willie Drew, possibly starting opposite Robinson. With seasoned players like Charles Tutt (though injuries make him less seasoned), Taurus Carroll, and Wesley McCormick, Drew pushing past them has me thinking we might have another big time corner on our hands.

With the QB talk on the off season thread of Dinucci not surprisingly emerging as the clear front runner & Maloney with the hamstring injury, that was overlooked. That could be a surprise starter. I hope that is more to do with Drew's improvement versus any lingering issues with Tutt. Would be great to have 5 very good corners available, as there's often 3 on the field, plus often someone is banged up..

Would be nice to see improvement from Carroll and McCormick. They had a rough outing against State last year but hopefully learned a lot. Think about how badly Moreland got torched against UNC in 2016 and where he is now.

He’s bigger than most of our corners too. 6’1 190. Actually has the size of our safeties.

RE: 2019 Football Training Camp Thread
-Madia with article today on how Dinucci spent 10 days with private QB instructor Quincy Avery, who’s got a pretty impressive current & former client list.

-The Sr Maginley, who was listed at around 230 the last couple of seasons, now listed at 235, has now been moved to de end. Not surprising after graduating D Carter, and Terrell leaving the team. After the likely starters R Carter and Daka, from what I’ve read, Ukwu is right behind them. I imagine the last 2 deep spot will be a battle between, Maginley, the Temple transfer Colclough, and maybe 1 of the freshmen. Maybe the 2 Fr de ends redhirt.

Updated roster (copied and pasted from the one in the Spring, with adjustments).
-Notice a lot of players from last season's listing losing an inch, with a couple losing 2 inches, with a few adding an inch. MH and CC must have been using a different tape measure lol).
-There's probably a couple mistakes in here. If you notice one, point it out.

Nothing major I can see other than the S Quint Boyd at 5’1 rather than 5’11.

Also Latrele Palmer at 5’11/228??? I knew he was a power back but wow..... we shouldn’t have trouble punching it in from inside the 3 yard line

he left WVU looking for playing time. maybe he realized JMU wasn't going to be a pushover to get it.

Who knows.

Who knows.

Young guy, too, high school class of 2018.

Maybe he had to run the 40 against 4.3 Brandon Polk and was too embarrassed to come back.

Who knows.

Young guy, too, high school class of 2018.

Maybe he had to run the 40 against 4.3 Brandon Polk and was too embarrassed to come back.

Yep. Spaulding has had some embarrassing moments.

With the summer departures of Chavious, Moran, Terrell, Spalding, you have to think CC has a few unused schollies available. Too bad its a little too late to pick up a transfer(s).
