Blazers in NFL preseason games

AJ McCarron left Texans practice with right hand injury

The Texans may need to change their plans at quarterback for Thursday’s preseason opener against the Packers.

AJ McCarron had to leave Tuesday’s joint practice with Green Bay after injuring his right hand, which is his throwing hand, during the session. Per Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, head coach Bill O’Brien did not offer any update on McCarron’s status after the game.

If McCarron does not play Thursday, it would mean a lot of work for Joe Webb as he’s the only other quarterback on the roster other than Deshaun Watson. If he’s going to be out longer than that, it’s likely the Texans would look to give Webb some company on the depth chart.

McCarron signed with the Texans after being released by the Raiders in March.

Joe has had a very so so game. Several highlight plays where he as made something out of nothing, but has had some accuracy issues and thrown a couple of picks.

Not sure why Tre didn't play, but I hear they are very high on him so I wouldn't read too much into it yet.

25-40, 268 yards, 1 TD and 2 INT would have him starting in Miami or Washington. 03-lmfao03-hissyfit03-lmfao

I could be mistaken but I think Tre Crawford did play and hit their QB low and got a low hit penalty.

i didn't double check the game stats. just memory after a few neat MMark's.

Most of the yards and the TD came in the fourth quarter against guys who will be bagging groceries for a paycheck in a couple of weeks.
He had a third INT called back in replay.

Most of it wasn’t his fault, he was playing behind a patchwork offensive line and with a few skill players out, but just watching the game the Texans offense looked pretty rough until the scrubs got put in by Green Bay in the second half.

He did have some great plays including a highlight reel worthy scramble leading to a ~45 yard pass completion. I think he is a lock for a roster spot, which is all that matters.

He played, on special teams, and then some at defensive end (starting at about 3 minutes left in the fourth quarter). It doesn't look real good for him at this point; on the Falcons' depth chart from their website, he is listed as a fourth team defensive end (not LB). Hopefully he gets a chance to make an impression, whether it be for Atlanta to hold on to him or if they end up cutting him, for him to catch on with another team.

RE: Joe Webb could see a lot of action Thursday!
So does Joe Webb own the record for most tackles in a career for a QB in the NFL with all these years as a gunner?

Favre could be up there from tackles on interceptions

Replay of the Texans vs Packers will be run at 4:00 pm today on the NFL channel (DirecTV CH 212).

RE: Blazers in NFL preseason games
Both JJ Nelson (2 targets 2 catches for 44 yards) and Anthony Rush (3 tackles including a TFL) had good games for the Raiders tonight.
Rush got snaps early and might have even started.
Darius Williams started at CB for the Rams.

Was hoping JJ. would be Rice Esque. A protegue. has the arms and hands and legs and unreal spead.

Anthony has the size to stay.

Watched the first episode of Hard Knocks on YouTube, and I think the key for Rush to stay on will just be effort. They cut Ollie, the DT from Last Chance U, because he was doing the same stuff he did in Scooba.
