Exclamation Predict the Number of Regular Season Wins
Not counting bowl games. I have us down for 9-10 wins-- probably more likely to be 9 vs. 10. Have us down for losses at Ohio State and two others. What say you?

I also think 9. We will be a better team but the schedule is harder. Last year we could have lost to OU and SMU, but should have beat Temple. So our 10-2 could have been 8-4 or 9-3.

RE: Predict the Number of Regular Season Wins
I say 9 wins in regular season. Hoping 10 with the bowl game vs. ACC in the Military Bowl. Weary about OL and DL. Otherwise, loving this team.

I say 10. Better team, better schedule, same record.

I'm going with 9 as well.

-Disappointed with 7 wins or less
-Happy with 8 wins or more

RE: Predict the Number of Regular Season Wins
I think the team itself will be better than last year...

But the schedule is harder than last year...

But we did pull off a couple of skimpy wins last year...

But we did kind've get ripped off by Temple too...

But we did get handled pretty well by UCF las year...

But we've got them at home home this year and without Milton...

Can we beat UCLA two times in a row???

Can we beat O$U one time in a row???

Oh the heck with it. I'm predicting 10 wins !

RE: Predict the Number of Regular Season Wins
I said in another thread they'll get to 10 wins. They're hungry. Talented. Well coached. Cats win all home games. Take Marshall and ECU on the road. 2 of 4 @ tOSU, Houston, USF and Memphis.

RE: Predict the Number of Regular Season Wins
I'm going with 9-3. It's just such a tough schedule this year. I see 8 games on the schedule that we could realistically lose, but I see 12 games that we could realistically win.

I like 10-2 with one of the losses coming in Columbus and splitting the Houston/Memphis road games.

9-3 would be excellent. Any more than that, this team will be bordering on "best ever" threads here on Banter. Even at nine wins, most believe this will be one of the best Bearcat teams ever if the O and D lines rise to the challenge.

I'm going to go with 9-3 but the potential is there for more. As others have said, the schedule is really tough this year.

If this team finishes with 10+ wins and beats Ohio State I am sure there will be a lot of discussion across the Tri-State as to whether this is a the best UC FB team ever.

RE: Predict the Number of Regular Season Wins
Nine wins and I am ecstatic. Do not think that we are physical enough to run the table with our schedule. We have possible losses to UCLA, at Osu, at Marshall, UCF, Temple, at Houston at UsF and at Memphis. I think 8-4 is likely but I could see 7-5. I am beginning to see why Vegas only had us at six wins.

Vegas line is 7.5 -140

RE: Predict the Number of Regular Season Wins
I understand that nearly everyone thinks the team will be better but the record will be worse due to the tougher schedule. Basically most are thinking that the increase in schedule toughness outweighs the growth and improvement of the team. I'm very high on this team, I chose 11-12 for the record, and think that they will be better than most believe. I think the coaching staff is building something really special and this is a chance to thrust themselves into the national conversation this season. I know there's a lot of questions to be answered but I believe our Bearcats will answer the call.

Barring injury, 7 or 8 wins would be a big disappointment and step backwards, even with a tougher schedule. If UC wants to be take the next step forward they should be competing for the conference championship this season.

RE: Predict the Number of Regular Season Wins
I'm in the 9-10 wins camp, but it really could go in any number of directions. There is unquestionable talent within this group, but a lot of unanswered questions. Who steps up at WR? Will the defensive and offensive lines perform as good or better than last year. Does Ridder experience a slump now that teams have a year of tape to break down his game? How does the kicking game look (played a big factor in many of our games last year). I expect a great season, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervously optimistic.

Blue just got his waiver approved. That can't hurt...

That IS good news.

… they must not have approved any waivers for O$U lately that they needed to counteract.
