On paper, the St. John's hiring of Mike Anderson is very strong. He can recruit and coach, and he does a good job with fan and media relations. Anderson is a pro.

So TOMORROW maybe we see our first NIT team....

so up to 88 now- got a 12th team in the tourney in South Alabama. So still 31 NIT teams left now.

Oregon St shows up at #87. Got 11 more teams and then when we get up to 75, that would be projected top 75 tier 1 road game opponents....

Northern Iowa checks in at 86. MVC complete.

Updated with #78 New Mexico St, WAC champion. 16th champion already in the bracket for the countdown.... Only 2 more 13 seeds left and then we start to get into the 12 seeds.

#77 - Butler

8th NIT team- so very fringy for the NIT when you get NIT bid thieves in real life.

In about a week or so we get to the point where the next 16 teams or so are very interchangeable in making the NCAA/making the NIT.

UTSA shows up at #76. Means now at least 22 1 bid conferences this year in the tourney projection- that's now guaranteed.

Notre Dame shows up at #75. 10th NIT team in the projection, so realistically, they're one of the 1st real NIT teams(rest being NIT bid thieves)…..

don't think UConn will be all that much ahead of USF.....

UCLA shows up at #71. 19 NIT teams to go now. After about 5-10 more it's IMO very interchangable last 8-10 teams in NCAA tourney/1st 8-10 teams in NIT tourney. Just a bounce or 2 either way can make a HUGE difference.

I don't think UConn will be projected to be in the tourney, and they're only 20 spots left prior to the NCAA tourney now. So really the difference between UConn and USF isn't much at all..... 1/2 bounces- that's it.
