I've had one for years above the fireplace. No issues.
Does anyone still have real soot these days?

That’s an ordinary thing. Are you home bound? Your post acts like it’s a big deal.

You know what's sad? Debating politics in a post about a basketball player.

Man don’t let that bother you.

The only thing that bothers me is having to wade through a bunch of crap (on both sides) while reading a thread that's supposed to be about basketball.

Here you go....

I like the addition of Stokes. He’s a big body and I think Penny will make him a pretty good big man.

Cons:

He was terribly mediocre at Florida
He's a banger that doesn't fit Penny's up and down style of play
He eats a scholarship

Pros:

There's a niche; we don't have a big physical guy
He has battled injuries, an ACL injury certainly could have affected his production at Florida. Fully healthy, he could be much improved.

If he gets a waiver, I don't see him getting much playing time this year. The front court is really crowded. JW is going to get all the minutes he can handle in competitive games, and so is Precious. It's pretty clear Lance Thomas is going to get significant playing time and Isaiah Maurice will play a role with his ability to knock down jumpers.

The big unknown is next year. Maurice will be gone, likely Precious and JW are gone, so there is a big hole there.

I lean towards being okay with it, he's a Memphis kid with some upside and a history with Penny. It's good to keep the home base happy. Assuming Penny continues to recruit in the top tiers, I'm not sure he's ever going to be a guy that gets huge minutes though.

The big question is whether he can get a waiver.

And I should have added, I don’t think he’ll be one of the main bigs next year. Certainly not this year either. I think Penny will bring in a couple of really good bigs. But I do think Stokes can be a serviceable big man, a spot big man that can give the main big a rest.
