I’m not disappointed. This is good for the team. The last couple of years there was a lot of leaking of news going on that sometimes was true and sometimes wasn’t. Hard to build a strong team culture when you have parents of the team internally tearing down the team culture. Let the coaches coach and let the players play. If people really want to know what’s going on get your tickets. Boom!!!
Totally agree!!!

Impressions?
Kaleb’s article about the deep ball passes was spot on. Both Bowers and Childers had multiple nice deep route throws. Even Anthony impressed and If any QB that won the deep ball challenge It was Childers.
Other thoughts:
Good energy from the team and staff. Feels more pro like than Carey’s practices.
Childers is competing and looked very comfortable, which should be expected. Before people flip out about Childers possibly winning the job or Bowers not living up to expectations we need to be patient. The competition has already ensured Childers is locked in and playing confidently. He didn’t have any bad throws today and looked better than ever. I will be confident in the system and whoever wins the job on 8/31.
Richie was the best of the WRs to my untrained eye. He’s explosive, fun to watch. Top 4 WRs all looked solid. Hall improving but not there yet imo.
Harbison and Nettles showed good burst.
Crawford got majority of short route passes.
Hard to tell starting OL w/so much rotation but grad transfer was in the mix, mostly next to Hawn with the 2s I think.
The UConn transfer in the defensive backfield looks so tall. A bit lost on day one but he could be a nice piece eventually.
Not much to note on D without pads.
Thanks.

Smart move. Open practice for the committed.....
Yeah. Can't open it up to just anyone! It would get too crowded. That would ruin the "exclusive" factor. Next thing you know a bunch of people would be having a good time and telling their friends, and dam! Then you would have people crowding you at Huskie Stadium on game day.
Good call. Gotta keep our Huskies to ourselves.

Haha. I see what you did there...... Nobody appreciates free crap....If people want to see practice they should offer money to get in. I’m sure donors get VIP access. I would charge people to see practice if it were open. Thank goodness I’m not A.D.

RE: Practice Schedule and times
From a raw talent perspective, Bowers obviously has more ability. For that reason I hope he is the one that stands out because his ceiling is probably quite a bit higher. I also though will be happy with whoever gets the nod, because its the first time in 6 years I actually trust the individual making these decisions.

1. Actually, I don;t have a problem with that, i.e., chargin $1 or $2 or $3 to watch practice. For the common joe. Any large donor should have VIP treatment above and beyond. But I think there is enough room just on the west side for all interested in watching a practice.
2. If "closing practice" truly is helpful to winning-- then say so and I am all in. But closing it, unless you have season tickets is IMHO short sighted.
