The Florida directionals make sense in that scenario however.

I don’t know. I’m sure BYU learned from the mistake they made years ago when they were making demands that got them rejected. Who did they think they were? Texas?

The more time Utah is in a P5, the more anxious BYU will get. BYU and Cincinnati make sense if they go to 12. But it’s The Dude from WV we’re talking about here, I won’t believe anything until a more credible source like ESPN or FS1 reports it.

Texas will not accept a directional Florida school as long as they are in the league.

What you are looking at from Lambert is probably a replacement list. The KU leaving scenario is one to pay attention to. I personally do not see KU as having enough value to go with OU to either the B1G or the SEC. However I could see iether conference with OU locked up starting heavy negotiations with KU to force Texas' hand.

Texas would probably prefer to ride out an OU departure until 2031 when the LHN finishes -the $18.2M/year difference in their situations. The B12 would be diminished, but could go as a 9 team league, or 10 if Texas says "OK" to BYU. But if Texas thinks KU is going to go with OU, then the B12 becomes a conference they cannot stay in, there would be no other flagship.

Now if it looks like Kansas would very likely accompany Oklahoma, then Texas would immediately go to Oklahoma and see if the two schools could agree to move together to the conference of Texas' preference between the SEC and B1G. If that can be agreed then that is what will happen. But if the two schools have different destinations in mind, Texas would likely discuss with the preferred conference their move and also with the ACC to see if that could work. But they'd wait to see if Kansas really was going to go. If KU looks like it is getting an invite to partner with OU, then Texas would make it's exit move to the other conference or the ACC if that could work (ACC is where the thin chance TCU has comes into view).

It is only a scenario where Texas leaves that two or three replacements (UCF, USF, BYU) come into play. If KU goes then all three would be on the list.

There would have to be a back choice to get to 10, as one of the three may hit a snag. This is where Colorado State, Houston and Cincy enter the possibles list.

But you are not looking at a list to get the B12 to 12 again.

I don’t believe these rumors, but the Florida schools make a ton of sense just on their own

Chris Del Conte has said, before UCF's two NY6 Bowls, that UCF is a school that has the most upside of all expansion candidates. Whether or not that will get them an invite if the Big 12 expands it is well known that he thinks they are a potential powerhouse for years to come and a valuable candidate.

Long term it is a potential juggernaut, as is USF. Enrollment is approaching 70k students in a huge metro area that doesn't have pro football. The state is a recruiting hotbed, the facilities are improving, and they've had the recent on field success. There's a lot to like

Actually, WVa recruits Ohio heavily and dosn't want to elevate UC. WVa also recruits Florida but needs to get yearly exposure in Florida. So having UCF and South Florida makes sense for them.

I still don't believe it's true but, the season hasn't started yet and I was bored.

"TheDude" also has an agenda against UC because they can't out recruit UC in Ohio. He purposely will play up any school for expansion outside of Cincinnati.

He is a complete homer idiot and eventually had to unfollow him when the trolling lost its fun.

It goes a little deeper than that. Early on Lambert would often mention UC as one of the top candidates for an expanded Big XII. Some of our fans gave him a hard time because they doubted his posts/claimed sources. He grew resentful due to what he saw as attacks, then started trashing UC every chance he got.

I have no idea what their revenues are, but they've sold out season tickets the last two seasons. Now, i don't know how often they are getting butts in seats or how much the tickets cost, but those tickets have all been sold. They'd also had two home P5 games cancelled the last two years due to hurricanes, which I'm sure has been frustrating.

A quick wiki search also tells me that they've gone from 33k students in 2000 to 68k in 2018. That's an increase about the size of South Carolina and most other SEC schools. Some of these students are still in school or just recently graduated, but the growth potential is definitely there for the long term as new graduates begin entering their 30s and 40s and have more money to spend. Eventually, they may even need a new stadium if they keep pumping out 10-15k graduates a year.

If Oklahoma initiates movement first it will either be with Kansas (B10) or Okla St (SEC). Texas would then need to find a suitor, declare full or partial independence, or stick with the Big 12.

Restocking would then be in order. I agree that this must be the pre-prepared list of who to reach out to first in the event of a defection. Cincy and Houston should also be under consideration.

If Oklahoma leaves and Texas doesn’t I’d anticipate Houston would get a call up to boost the Longhorn voting block

That makes a whole lot more sense. I do still think there's good potential there though, just not as much as UCF

For all you clowns complaining about Butts in seats and Tickets sold BS, Check your own schools true tickets sold vs tickets used and butts in seats. You'll find a lot of number fidgeting or out right lying on your alma maters behalf.

It's damn easy to throw stones at one of the few schools who's actual attendance numbers are published when you're school sits behind a legal loop hole.

The fact is that all schools aren't reporting true butts in seats as their tickets sold number. They are actually providing the umber of "Tickets Distributed", which includes tickets give away as gifts as promotional swag, gifts to boosters, gifts to business partners and gifts to assist in donations drives as well as gifts to charitable organizations.

So please "Cry me a river, build a bridge and Get over it".
