Yeah, this has become too common too quick.

It makes me wonder if it's gang related, like some new initiation requirement.

Husband of a lady who works for me was driving down Riverdale headed to OB and had a guy drive up and point a gun at him. He said the guy held it for about 5 seconds while they were driving... he pulled out his CCW and just about pulled the trigget before the window rolled up.

What gets me is how in the Hades these folks think they will actually get away with any of this. Boggles my mind that people can actually be that ignorant.

This one a few weeks ago thankfully didnt end in gunshots, but how smart is it to continually slam on your brakes right in front of someone who can easily write down your plate number?

The number of guns has very little to do with it.

There are more guns in the U.S. then there are citizens.


Honestly, I think a lot of the violent crime we're seeing today has a few root causes with one of them being the lack of programs for the mentally ill.

We see a few problems which tie back to the mentally ill: crime and homelessness to name a couple.


But I think the reason we're seeing an increase is because America no longer has the prevalence of mental institutions that we once had.

As facilities where the mentally ill were housed began shutting down, the mentally ill have been essentially integrated into society.

Where society once used to be shielded from the mentally ill we now walk past them as they're sleeping in a booth at McDonald's.

I think this is the biggie here. This plus the HIPAA privacy provisions have pretty much gotten us out of the business of protecting us from truly dangerous people.

Obviously not the sharpest tool in the shed. Probably the case in most of these type incidents.

Have had a gun pulled on me in traffic before. Southbound on Getwell just north of Shelby Dr.

My commute home is now slowed down everyday by all the rubberneckers looking at the people who MPD has pulled over. It's crazy that this is still going on with all the squad cars all over the interstate.

Memphis is an armpit. A smelly one at that.
