Want to see an attempt for zero unforced errors. Our penalties last year, some came at critical times. That has to end. Time for some discipline.

Also kicking, although punts may be few. No reason to not get real decent kick return execution. Would like to see at least one kick return for score.

In my dreams, I keep seeing an Eleby reverse naked rollout with run pass option action to a tight end. Moreland knows that deal. Make it predictable so every opponent must account for it.

This game is gonna start slow...

42-17 is my guess. New back end is gonna get burned a few times.

If we see a resurgence of the TE in the offense and the defensive front can control the front then it’s a matter of whenever Lester pulls out the 1’s.

I still want the back end of the D to show me something.

A convincing victory. But Monmouth (8-3 last season) will provide us a better test than the Wagner and Delaware State laughers.

Another shutout vs the FCS would be nice!

I don't know if it will be a laugher, but don't let that record fool you. They play in a terrible conference.

The final scores in their 3 losses last year were:
17-51 vs. EMU
9-51 vs. Princeton
14-51 vs. Kennesaw State

Their 8 wins came against the dreck of the FCS.

I hope they are more competitive than our recent FCS foes though. These glorified scrimmages can sometimes work to iron out wrinkles, but I don't think they get us prepared to face real competition.

I know nothing about Monmouth, but I will predict a shutout 48-0 for the Bronco's.

Best hope, come out with no injuries, iron out details of positions and play calling, and get the win.

Monmouth has a 5th year Senior Quarterback, he is good. However, I think we will still blow them out.

Again I'll say, why can't we at least play FCS teams we've heard of, that have a little name recognition among our fans and bring some of their own, i.e. teams from IN, ILL, OH for ex.?

Yeah, interesting read. He's only in his 60s, he must love it there! They've been moderately successful with a program record of 152-121. No FCS playoff wins, though. Miles Austin and Chris Hogan have played there. Their stadium capacity is just over 4,000. They play in the Big South Conference, strangely enough. No big-time programs in there anymore, though they had Liberty and Coastal Carolina at some point, I guess Elon if you want to count them in that group.

It's cheaper to get a team like Monmouth to come to Kalamazoo. Say if we wanted to play Illinois State or a team similar to them, it would cost us more money. From what I heard it only cost us 325,000 to get Monmouth.

I would think though that an Illinois State would bring more fans with them and attract more locally too. And the better level of competition would benefit the team.

But as we see every November in MAC attendance isn't a priority.

Speaking of the schedule, I am excited we only have to play 1 home weekday game, against Ball State.....I hate those!
