we call DirectV everytime they drop a channel and they knock off between $10 and $15 a month. Even with that I'm tired of seeing channels dropped. So we will go with a firestick and pay, I believe $90 for six months (4 TVs) for a bootleg that you can get just about every channel DirectV carries and most pay channels. That includes most espn thats behind a paid wall. You also get 5 or more ABC/CBS/NBC from cost to coast.

If the bootleg shuts down then its back to Direct (after getting a great lower price) or Cable

what is this bootleg you speak of?

Will it be more costly than sat/cable?

only one thing is certain, it is going to be hard to stream on dsl in marshal, usm, and appy land.

This USM fan is in Middle TN and just moved a few miles and had to step down from Cable to DSL. I can still stream on 2 devices at once. It does such though.

Wow I still have NBC and ABC but do not have CBSSN and Smithsonian Channel...Still getting local CBS Channel on Direct TV. I am happy with Direct TV the knocked off $60 a month off my bill for a year...

I’ve had YouTube TV since July 2017 and it’s a great product. My only complaint is that they don’t have Bloomberg.

This is their sports channels:

ESPN
ESPN2
ESPNU
ESPNews
FS1
FS2
FOX Sports Regional
CBS Sports
NBC Sports
Big Ten Network
SEC Network
MLB Network
NBA Network
Tennis Channel
Golf Channel
Olympic Channel

The only missing sports channels are the NFL Network, NHL Network and the Pac-12. Not sure if they’re adding the ACC Network this month.

I very recently found out that Google Fiber is now available in my neighborhood, so I'm going to check into that and dump ATT to the curb.

Do what you have to do. Last year I dumped comcast because they dropped BeIN Sports.

How much does this cost? And do you (or can you) access these channels from within the YouTube app? For example, I have a Firestick. Would I access all of this through the YouTube app on my firestick?

I use the Google ChromeCast ($30) on my TV. I bring up the Youtube TV App on my phone or the website up on my laptop and "Cast" it to my TV. YouTube TV is $50 a month.

Verizon over the summer actually dropped CBS Sports Net to a lower tier so I have it on my basic News & Sports plan now.

Dang, that looks pretty good but missing one channel I like, BeIN Sports primarily for Barca. If/when YouTube TV ever gets that channel I'll switch.

I agree. Fiber internet, even a 100 meg is still better than "high speed" from the cable co.

Might see a whole lot of Titans fans in Middle Tennessee, Southern Kentucky and North Alabama raisin' He%&; not to mention fans of other AFC teams in other markets who subscribe to Direct TV. Hard for me to believe they won't cut a deal before September.

I’m wondering how it will impact NFL Sunday Ticket

Thanks for that info. We are looking into many different options. We’ve been with DirecTV since 2005. Really the only reason we haven’t left is getting Bears games on Sunday Ticket

If you read the message on the channel, they mention a website (tvpromise.com). Go there, use your DirecTV login and they will most likely offer you a discount for the channels being temporarily dropped.
