What is going on with CBS Sports and Directv?
On Directv, CBS Sports (Channel 221) is showing "To Be Announced" in the guide. And, the station has a sports mix on it. Is something going on? We went through this garbage last season with beIN Sports.

DirectTV is in negotiations with CBS and NBC I believe. They are the worst.

RE: What is going on with CBS Sports and Directv?
CBS ordered DirecTV to remove its O&O local channels in those markets, CBSSN nationally from all packages, and Smithsonian Channel for HD Pack subscribers while the two sides continue negotiations on a new contract. DirecTV offered to keep the channels on, and those local O&O channels are "must carry". CBS said no.

CBS wants to at least double its per subscriber retransmission fees that get passed on to DirecTV subscribers for programming that has only about half the viewership from when the previous contract began in 2012.

RE: What is going on with CBS Sports and Directv?
Our two year contract is up this month and it will be dropped. We are only paying around $50 for a package that should cost $110 over this last year. The reason for that low cost...

we call DirectV everytime they drop a channel and they knock off between $10 and $15 a month. Even with that I'm tired of seeing channels dropped. So we will go with a firestick and pay, I believe $90 for six months (4 TVs) for a bootleg that you can get just about every channel DirectV carries and most pay channels. That includes most espn thats behind a paid wall. You also get 5 or more ABC/CBS/NBC from cost to coast.

If the bootleg shuts down then its back to Direct (after getting a great lower price) or Cable

As a guy who has become accustomed to watching Direct, I'm getting a little bit PO'd. First, the local ABC affiliate gets dumped (There goes two Preseason Titans games, not to mention numerous college FB games); but now CBSSportsNet? I Wonder, when are they gonna discount my ball-breakin' monthly bill for their service? NEVER!

Please tell CLT that he is passing up some low-hanging fruit these days and needs to step his game up again. Besides, everyone knows that Marshall and USM people can't read, so it's not like anyone's feelings are actually getting hurt.

That money is now paying for the deal comcast just redid with DTV. NextStar deal might get done, but CBS deal doesn't look likely. Both sides say CBS is no longer available on DTV and no future plans to negotiate, CBS wants twice the price of any other National broadcast network per subscriber. Some people think it's to include with CBS All Access account.

Y’all have a lot of extra money or you’re over 50 and don’t understand other options if you still have a Directv service.

So, are you sayin us old folk need to get us a fancy Firestick or some other high tech gadget to watch CFB? Hope I can find me some young whipper snappers to show my old feeble self how to operate the darn thang! Meanwhile, I guess I'm stuck with my Direct. 03-hissyfit

We haven’t had CBS now for a month. I amazed it’s lasted this long. As football season is starting and NFL & college games will be missed I think they get the deal figured out otherwise people will really start to freak the F out.

Luckily, North Texas doesn't have any games on CBS Sports this season. But, if this does drag on into the season, I will feel bad for our conference brethren that do.

Don't forget CBS is the primary network for the AFC divisional games in the NFL. Might see a whole lot of Titans fans in Middle Tennessee, Southern Kentucky and North Alabama raisin' He%&; not to mention fans of other AFC teams in other markets who subscribe to Direct TV. Hard for me to believe they won't cut a deal before September.

Im hoping they at least put CBS-Sports on CBS All-Access this fall as a stop gap measure of they cannot get an agreement with these major providers. At least the games would be available to anyone willing to pay for the All-Access service.

It is so stupid that they haven't already.

CBS News and CBS Sports HQ are very popular stream options for cord cutters.

RE: What is going on with CBS Sports and Directv?
This isn't just a DirectTV problem. I have ATT Uverse and they pulled ABC and The CW from my channel lineup about a month ago....of course I'm still being charged for the those channels. 03-banghead

I very recently found out that Google Fiber is now available in my neighborhood, so I'm going to check into that and dump ATT to the curb.

RE: What is going on with CBS Sports and Directv?
clt says soon we will just pay a fee for the Netflix, espn, Fox, nbc, cbs, etc app and then stream.

Will it be more costly than sat/cable?

only one thing is certain, it is going to be hard to stream on dsl in marshal, usm, and appy land.
