Chancellor out
Andrew Rogerson has resigned. I guess I'm too sport's focused but it's hard for me to believe this has nothing to do with Chasse's situation. Maybe Chasse might even have stayed if this happened a month or two ago. Things are definitely crazy at UALR right now.

Declining enrollment and the Chase situation could not have helped him. He seemed an odd fit from the beginning to me. I wish we had Chase back. Any idea about enrollment for this semester? Seems to be down almost everywhere.

Don't know about enrollment. I figure online college is killing commuter schools the most. Why commute when you can take your classes at home. I feel that 75% of college is getting away from home, learning to do things on your own, and the growth associated not being dependent on your parents. If your gong to live at home, might as well do it online. Sure there are arguments to be made for being in "live" classes, but plenty will choose the savings and time advantages of doing it at home. We really need a dynamic chancellor, with new ideas, to right the ship.

RE: Chancellor out
I certainly liked the chancellor on a personal basis- i.e. he was a very likeable and personable guy. However, I heard 2 complaints about him, in the past week or two, that had nothing to do with athletics. I guess where there's smoke there's fire. Just a tough situation with, at least, from my perspective the 2 most important positions at the university being open for the foreseeable future.

If a Chancellor gets fired over athletics, it would have to be something pretty flagrant.

Probably not the primary reason, but I have a feeling it played a part.

Read the front page story in the AGD today. Lots of problems out on University Avenue that the Chancellor did nothing about during his tenure.

The most lasting and significant one to the readers of this board is the loss of Chasse Conque as the leader of our athletics. There is no doubt that the Chancellor not having Chasse’s back when it came to hiring a basketball coach was a huge factor in Chasse leaving. And with a strong leader like Chasse gone, the athletic department is in a very precarious position, especially given the situation in which the Chancellor left the entire University.

Yep, because now the entire hiring process slows down to a crawl, presumably. And we do not need a leadership vacuum at this point.
