McNally lost 10-9. Didn’t see the match but on Track Wrestling it showed a late 3rd period reversal got him.

We’ve lost a lot of matches that way this season...

They seem to be out recruiting us, for the past 2 or 3 years.

It still amazes me we get Kilgore, a national champion and then Ian Miller who should have been had the NCAA officials known how to count and then our recruiting goes south!!! I know the assistant we lost had a lot to do with it but somehow you think we could have capitalized on the success. Of course gymnastics, basketball and baseball didn’t do very well either so why wrestling??

Not one, but two assistants, took head coaching jobs. Wrestling fell victim to the same curse that has afflicted our basketball and (to a lesser degree) football programs.

McCracken did NOT get an at-large slot at 197. His chances were hurt by upsets at his weight class. Mizzou and Northern Illinois both received spots.

Lambert58/burden/any other KSU wrestling fans,
I still can’t believe that the NCAA wrestling tournament didn’t happen. I’m not saying it should have, just crazy to not watch it as it has been a staple this time of year.
Should be interesting to see the recruiting class that Andrassy/staff sign as it should be coming out soon.
I wonder where Ian Miller will coach next since Jim Zalesky was fired by Oregon State on 03/09/20?
Nic Bedelyon @ Rider, Mike DePalma @ George Mason, & Dustin Kilgore @ Air Force all coaching as well. Jermail Porter owns his own strength & conditioning gym called Functional Fitness.
Many guys staying in the sport or around it which is great to see. Frank Romano @ Notre Dame College, Matt Hill @ Edinboro, Josh Moore @ Cleveland State as well.

RE: Wrestling 2019-2020
Old Dominion University just dropped their wrestling program immediately. That takes the # of D1 wrestling programs to 80. The head coach had been there 16 seasons. They currently have 30 returning wrestlers and 9 recruits that will allow be allowed to transfer and be eligible immediately. The school is adding women’s volleyball and dropping wrestling after an outside consultant told them they would save ~$1 million $$$ dropping wrestling and adding volleyball (GTFOH).
Wonder if KSU will be able to get any transfers or any recruits that will be released from LOIs? KSU has 2 recruits signed and 2 spots hope to sign 2 more.

We’ve produced quite a few coaches over the past 10 years.

RE: Wrestling 2019-2020
I believe it now leaves only 75 D1 wrestling programs. Also, they will trim $1 million by dropping wrestling, but will be more than offset by adding $1.2 million for girls volleyball. ODU has numerous issues and now they’re left scrambling and unfortunately another program bit the dust.

RE: Wrestling 2019-2020
Andrassy/Staff have signed 2 recruits thus far. Trent Tidball 157/165lbs from Meadville PA and Blake Chrisman 197lbs/HWT Medina OH. I think there is a recruit from GA and another recruit from OH that will close out this class. It was going to be small as they lose 5, 2 had eligibility left but decided to stop after this season since they have graduated. (Simpson/Byland).
I think the only 3 weights in question for next season are 165lbs, 184lbs, and HWT.
165lbs will be between Limongi, Torres, & Russell
184lbs will be between Bates, Neu, & Boyle
HWT will be between Cover (had shoulder surgery and rehabbed most of this season, now healthy) & Berthold and possibly Chrisman

COVID or no COVID i'd be concerned if I was a wrestling coach. COVID may be the final straw. If I had to guess Kent will cut wrestling here very shortly.
