I understand the draw that watching TV at home has. When I'm not at the Southern game, I generally enter the man cave just before noon with my printed out TV schedules that are marked with which team we need to lose to help move the Eagles up the charts, etc. I get about 12 games going on at once, that's nice to be able to just glance around the room and see what's going on around the Nation. Fully stocked cooler, Southern Comfort close by.... I usually exit about midnight, or fall asleep watching Hawaii or Boise St.
But I haven't missed a home game in nearly 20 years. You cannot help your team from home. You cannot be the 12th man at home.
Fans truly have an effect on a team's performance. I'd go to the game and get loud when you have to and get quite when you need to.
With technology today, you really can take games with you. Either plan for it, or crash a tailgate with TV's. Most tailgates I've been to are glad to welcome fellow fans or even visiting fans. Go man, go be with about twenty odd thousand "of your closest friends"
It's college game day baby, don't just be a spectator, be part of it! Hear the drums of the marching band, feel that thump with your own ears, let it vibrate across your soul!
Check out those cheerleaders!
Smell the grills! It's the pageantry of college football, on opening day.. When your team's record (all of our teams) is still perfect and the stories & legends of this new, fresh season have yet to be written. LIVE it while you still can.
Or just stay home, its really up to you.
