clt says he is not sure USM understands how trades work

I guarantee you that there isn't one university president in C-USA that wants to be associated with Troy in anything.

Did you just decide to come here and be a jackhole for no reason?

Since when has anyone ever wanted to be associated with Florida Atlantic? Let me guess your response... because of your academics and R2 status?? Or your TV market that you have no pull in whatsoever?

Do you think most Sun Belt schools enjoyed having your crap school in the conference? Your football program played in a trash dump for most of your SBC tenure, and contributed absolutely nothing in the sport. You went 6-27 in OOC play while in the Sun Belt, and had a 26-34 conference record. Your basketball program departed with a 97-123 overall record while being in the Sun Belt, with only two winning seasons... and you're still playing in that same high school arena that you had when you were in Division II.

Gimme a break...

Did you come here just cause you wish you were in C-USA? I guarantee you, Sun Belt is your final resting place. So sensitive about a comment made about your school on a C-USA board! Thanks for participating.

No university president wants any association with Troy's academics or recruiting practices.

Are you an idiot? If you could read, you'd know I clearly came here to talk with USM fans about the upcoming game and have some good-hearted smack. Good job side-stepping the comments about your athletic program though. 03-lmfao

I see you're very unknowledgable about Troy's academics and its "recruiting practices" as well.

Troy has no desire to move to CUSA, nor do most of the other Sun Belt schools at this point. Quite honestly, it's a consensus that most, if not all, of the Sun Belt was happy to no longer be associated with the F_U's and their athletics.

Aside from it being nice to play against quality programs like USM, Marshall, and LATech, what would CUSA ever have to offer Troy??? Less revenue? Games streamed on Facebook? A commissioner that has no clue? Zero nationally televised conference games on ESPN or ESPN2? The only CCG that's not being televised on a normal nationally televised broadcast? No thanks.

There was no side step...the academics of Troy are no where near what the F_U's are...you acknowledged it. Long run C-USA will be in a better position than the Sun Belt. The schools just have a higher profile. Facts are facts. Your negatives of C-USA are temporary. I guarantee that if there is another shuffle of conferences and the AAC loses several members they will be calling C-USA (I don't necessarily think the F_U's get the call, depends on who moves and when) before the Sun Belt and the Sun Belt will be called by C-USA probably some schools in GA. No one from the Sun Belt has a direct line to the AAC.

I am very happy with C-USA and our sister schools. We will be fine long run, no one wants to drop the Sun Belt just cause they may be better in football at this point in time.

I never acknowledged that FAU's academics were superior... your assuming I did simply because I mentioned FAU's research status (because that's the only excuse you would have had to my question).

And the AAC isn't going to pick from CUSA because the schools there are "high profile". They're going to pick the schools that most align with their geographical setup, history, and performance. USM and Marshall clearly have history with the AAC schools and have solid athletics, and have been on the AAC shortlist. If Marshall and USM moved to the Sun Belt today, they'd still be in the same position to get picked up by the AAC.

Your belief that CUSA will be in a better position in the future is based on what exactly? Academics and markets?
You guys have been saying "CUSA has potential, the future is bright" for 7-8 years now... and I believe most would agree that it has only declined since the 2012 realignment.
Even some of CUSA's eastern school AD's have publicly mentioned that the current CUSA isn't ideal.

A lot of us agree with you. Blow both conferences up and make them more regional. If the AAC expands they will go with a big market school. It doesn't seem to matter if you have tradition or are a current winner. All they care about is the market size of the school.

I didn't say high profile...I said HIGHER profile than the Sun Belt. I agree with you if USM and Marshall both moved to the Sun Belt their status to be selected by the AAC would be exactly the same. I believe they were left behind for a reason and those factors haven't changed. Only my opinion and time will tell if their is another shuffle. I like that they are conference mates.

And the simple reason F_U's are in the C-USA is that its good for the east division to come to Florida every year to play one of us. Look at Marshall's roster. It looks like it is made up of the tri-county area in South Florida. The F_U's best chance, maybe the only change to go to the AAC is if UCF and USF both leave. We add value to recruiting.
