Spencer Tears in the record book
Spencer Tears currently has 84 catches for 953 yards and 8 TDs in his career. In order to reach the top ten list for each category he needs 59 catches, 1005 yards and 9 TDs. I would love to see him have that kind of year. He has the ability, our QBs need to get him the ball downfield.

That should be attainable in Coach E's Offense assuming Bowers, Tears, and the pass-blocking ability of the OL are able to pick up the scheme and Tears emerges as the #1 WR he was brought in too be.

Tears has a knack for getting open, but maybe it's just me but he doesn't appear to be a very good pass catcher.

See video at about the 2-minute mark ... Tears makes a reaching, diving, falling-down catch in the end zone for a TD in the NIU win over Buffalo in the MACC.

Lot of potential.

--------------------

Ooops. Forgot. Also see video at about the 25 second mark ... one-handed grab in end zone for an earlier TD.

Lot of potential.

Exactly. He could be a bit more consistent, but he’s definitely a big playmaker and our go to receiver right now. He will have a legitimate shot at the NFL. Especially if Bowers is throwing to him.

Tears (assuming he doesn't miss games due to injury or knuckleheadedness) will have a minimum of 10 games and a maximum of 12 (assuming that the loss to Utah will keep NIU out of the College Football Playoff 03-drunk) to achieve those numbers.

Here are what he will need to average per game (rounded up):

10 games: 5.3 catches, 89.6 yards, .8 TDs
11 games: 4.82 catches, 81.5 yards, .73 TDs
12 games: 4.42 catches, 74.67 yards, .67 TDs
