The Big Tournament: Why not a Dub Team?
I'm watching the $2 million annual TBT and a 3-seed "Brotherly Love" team just defeated 1-seed "Boeheim's Army" in the 3rd Round. They're interviewing Frantz Massenat (former Drexel player) from BL at the moment. Samme Givens (also from Drexel) is on the team as well.

It got me thinking: Would there be enough pieces to build a competitive team of UNCW Basketball alums? You obviously couldn't put guys like Brett Blizzard (39 years old) or John Goldsberry (36) on it, as those guys are long retired from the pro ranks.

But I'm sure there are plenty of talented younger guys you could include. If we had our pick of anybody, I'd start by asking these guys for the 2020 tournament:

* Keith Rendleman (28): Currently playing for the Kirchheim Knights in Germany

* Jordon Talley (24): Hebeisen White Wings in Hanau, Germany

* Chris Flemmings (25): Peristeri B.C. Doves in Athens, Greece

* Addison Spruill (26): Raiffeisen Flyers Wels in Wels, Austria

* Jeantal Cylla (22): Finishing college career at Arkansas in 2019-20

* Denzel Ingram (25): Played with Horsens IC in Denmark in 2017-18

* Marcus Bryan (24): Tried out for Packers in Summer of 2018

Saw a 40 year old playing last night.

Does the team have to be comprised of players from one school? Imagine a couple of our guys teaming up with a few other talented guys from other mid majors in the Carolinas.

I’m asking because I don’t know anything about this tournament.

You can make up a team of players from anywhere. The only rule is you have to be at least 18. That's it. The Brotherly Love team had players who played at a bunch of different schools, with the common denominator being that they are all Philly kids.

VCU usually has a team every year. They call their squad "Ram Nation", I believe.

The later rounds get televised on ESPN/ESPN2 so its nice publicity for mid-major schools.
