THammock is really good at using social media, etc., to keep up the excitement and interest level leading up to the Illinois State game and the season. It's also obvious he doesn't want to give anything away (unlike previous regime, where everything was pretty predictable anyway). His Twitter posts are always about positive attitude and things that are happening ... and they are really happening.

It would be interesting -- maybe a little closer to the Aug. 31 game -- to see how ticket sales are going. Anyone know anything now? How about some attendance predictions, just for fun?

As a guide, official attendance for home openers, last five years:

20k wouldn't be surprising. Big Brother should bring 2-3k and Hammock's promotion will sell tickets this first game.

Don't forget the Illinois State fans that will come. I recall a large contingent for the SIU game, albeit that was a matchup of two incredible QBs (Lynch vs Garoppola).

There was a volume and depth to that crowd noise at that EIU game 1st half which is rarely heard at Huskie Stadium

Should have mentioned in the OP ... official capacity is 23,595 (that was listed official attendance for the EIU game also. i.e., sellout).
