Bower had sellouts. Fedora had sellouts, or near-sellouts. Then faceplant plus realignment equals dropoff. We're still finding our way in C-USA 4.0. I'm optimistic it could rebound some this season.

30k was originally one of the requirements for becoming I-A, now FBS. lazily-searching, 22.4k is the largest high school stadium. 30k+ stadium seats keeps you from being compared to a high school stadium. It also helps you schedule better OOC foes at home. More seats allows you to pay a better guarantee to a well-traveling fanbase's school, aka mid-and-maybe-upper-tier P5 schools. Just another perceived step of legitimacy that needs to be taken.

Most of that has zero to do with the state of current football and almost every game being shown on some form of "TV". Butts in seats is falling every season and it doesnt seen to be based off wins or losses.

Even USM has stopped giving out freebies just to fill large sections of their stadium that other wise would sit empty. As for that one game every 2 to 3 years that we host a team that would need more seats...

Do like Western...rent out a NFL stadium to play that game then you are not limited to the 30k or 38k. You have enough room to get as many fans as you can, like 48,000

Believe me, its better to play that one game in another stadium, than to have 15,000 seats empty for all the other games.

Apogee has tons of brick, and our next project after finishing the new IPF will be renovating the athletic center and south end zone. I also disagree about Charlotte having the most attractive stadium.

I see a lot of achy backs...no seat backs. :(

clt says this is on a cloudy day

I was in Charlotte 2 years ago for the game, it was cloudy. I have to admit it was best cloudy game day experience I have ever had.

They are planning for the crowd to stand a lot.

The club level in the video has comfortable stadium seats.

For everyone else, chair-backs are an add on for season ticket holders. They are only installed for the season, that is why they are not in the video. I had them on my seats, but they are not comfortable, so I had them removed. I've been bringing my own seats to the games for the last few seasons now.

The crowd actually does do a fair amount of standing.

That's what happens when a team is exciting and successful, and the games are good and competitive.

I like Apogee. I've been there twice now. That IHOP has seen some traffic.

Yeah, it's pretty awesome. USM's and UNT's about the best in CUSA.
