This is the off-season, please let the next 3 weeks speed by and let real football began. (-:
Then this stuff can go back to the realignment board.

It should have been moved two weeks ago but our mods are non existent.
Which leads to three pages of stupidity from Kit Kat (and his three other screen names) and NoDak (who was basically laughed off the realignment board).

Football can’t get here soon enough.

NDSU duh, but seems like MAC doesn't want NDSU coming in and being your best team on Day 1.

Sagarin Ranked #35 as of 10/14

Temple, they would provide current MAC members relatively easy W's most times.

Doesn’t their coach have a .775 MAC win%?

Happened when Marshall joined. Love 'em or hate 'em, they did inject some added excitement and boosted the stature of the MAC at the time.

If the MAC had a spot open (I hate uneven divisions), I'd support NDSU joining.

Problem is nowadays, expansion teams are analyzed through the lens of media markets. And the Dakotas face an uphill battle in that department.

True but i think the prestige and past success of NDSU would outweigh the lack of big media market. It is a top name and would be an instant positive spotlight on the MAC

Pretty much why the MAC is considered one of the bottom conferences...
Not thinking outside the box by /expanding the footprint/Adding a powerhouse FCS program like NDSU or James Madison/Attempt to bring in Army-football only... 03-banghead

How much less money would we get (per team) with 14 teams instead of 12 teams?

If travel costs and such were no issue -- I would agree with this.

Problem is, NDSU doesn't have a big enough stadium/crowd-seats to make up for the travel costs. But, it would add excitement/exposure to the MAC.

I think 19,000 is plenty at the moment. No not ideal but it’s a hell of an atmosphere. No inflated attendance numbers when it comes to NDSU football.

Would excitement stay just as high if you were looking at 7-9 wins most seasons with a bowl in Montgomery or Boise on the line instead of well over a dozen and an FCS title? I don't know. Every fan base has different expectations.

Hard to say but I see 10 wins most seasons. Yes that’s very bold for me to say but I can not expect anything less but wouldn’t be surprised if it were more per season. Just the way Bison fans are wired.

Over the last 20 seasons, NDSU has had 11 seasons of 10 wins or more and 9 seasons of 9 wins or fewer. They have a high of 15 wins and a low of 2 wins. All programs have their fluctuations.

You guys may be wired that way, but the reality is that you'd be going from being one of the best-supported teams in FCS to just another G5 in a conference notorious for parity and relatively equal resources amongst programs. In the past decade the MAC has had sixteen teams win ten or more games - NIU five times, Toledo and BG with two. The odds of any program pulling a Marshall in this day and age is relatively small.
