OK, but I've been for that long before the GND was even thought about.

I dunno, seems like a nice plaque. If all the scientists are wrong and climate change driven by human activity turns out to be really nice for everyone, y'all can visit it and laugh about how badly the libs got owned.

I always find it amusing when people think that all the issues of climate change are known and set in stone. To the extent of, say, the theory of gravity. Some apparently think that I can surmise from above.

Not the first time some people have believed that all knowledge has been discovered.

Lol that higher temps lead to more melanoma (tied to UV not red spectrum radiance). If anything, warmer temps would drive people indoors and to higher lattitudes.

I still contend warmer is better, but more carbon may be bad. Scant evidence that temp has any correlation to weather extremes; if anything, more convection will lead to more water on land which would attenuate temperature swings. Still no idea if warmer leads to more convection, we will have to collect measurements for a few more thousand years.

I wonder how more water will move inland. Perhaps through more severe storms?

Warmer temps == more gaseous H20 in the atmosphere as a whole.

More storms, more rain. More rain == more water on land. Means more heat transfer from ground to water. Which means less radiative energy available from terrestrial sources. And, CO2 is tuned to the wavelengths of terrestrial re-radiated heat.

Nice negative feedback, along with the fact that the 'half life' of water vapor as a positive driver is about 1/1000 that of CO2.

Does climate change increase skin cancer risk?

As the climate changes and global temperatures rise, will more people get skin cancer? Probably, but the answer is complex and still under-investigation. Much of the answer is tied to the state of our ozone layer, which serves as an atmospheric shield that absorbs ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun, including the most harmful UVB rays. Exposure to this kind of radiation can cause non-melanoma skin cancer and is linked to increased risk of melanoma. The Word Health Organization (WHO) predicts that ozone depletion will lead to a rise in skin cancers over the coming decades.

...

For example, climate change and global warming have been shown to fuel extreme weather, which can send water and heat high into the stratosphere and destabilize the ozone layer, according to James Anderson, an atmospheric chemist at Harvard University.

....

Relying on ozone modelling, the WHO predicts the U.S. population will experience a 10 percent increase in skin cancers by about 2050.

In response to driving people inside, a lot of people work outdoors.
