Jim Harbaugh on James Hudson
Jim Harbaugh giving James Hudson good ammo for his appeal, totally thoughtless comments from Jim during the B1G media days.

Harbaugh is about as big as a jerk as it comes in college football. When I first heard that he was related to Tom Crean, I laughed audibly.

I hate Ohio State but after reading this, I hope they continue to dominate Michigan.

It's ok dudes. When he loses to Ohio State for the fifth time in a row and flames out in a bowl game he'll be gone after the season. His coaching seat is made of habanero skins right now.

RE: Jim Harbaugh on James Hudson
On point with Jimbo...

Quote:It's complicated with Jim Harbaugh. It always has been. As Michigan's coach, he's had all the maneuverability he lacked as an NFL quarterback.

Harbaugh held at least two lengthy press conferences Friday at the conclusion of 2019 Big Ten Media Days. He spent them ducking, dodging and failing to reveal himself or the psyche of his team.

That's the dichotomy of the man and his accomplishments. Through his first four seasons, he has failed to lead Michigan to a Big Ten title, but he has won at least 10 games in three of those seasons.

Since he arrived in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Harbaugh has the ninth-best winning percentage in FBS. But no berths in the Big Ten championship game or the College Football Playoff, and no victories against rival Ohio State.

A man known for channeling Bo Schembechler as an offensive strategist has promised to join the spread RPO generation.

To do it, Harbaugh picked 35-year-old Josh Gattis, a former Alabama wide receivers coach. Michigan hasn't run a four-wide formation in several years, according to SportsSource Analytics.

The ultimate Michigan Man lost two of his assistants to … Ohio State.

One of the richest, most celebrated coaches in the country has tied for one division title in his eight years as a major-college coach. That tie, of course, stinks like a piece of rotten meat. It came after the epic 63-39 beatdown at Ohio State last year that meant no division title, no Big Ten title and certainly no playoff.

"That was not our day, for sure," Harbaugh told CBS Sports on Friday.

But there has to be some explanation. Michigan under Harbaugh has largely been a riddle. The Wolverines have won but not enough. To suggest Harbaugh is on the hot seat is ludicrous. The coach and his alma mater are still in love with each other.

But if Harbaugh's record vs. Ohio State drops to 0-5 this season, well, marriage counseling has to be considered. Especially when Urban Meyer is opening a new Columbus, Ohio, restaurant with its own "7-0 Room," marking the coach's success against Michigan.

"We've had a tremendous amount of success in terms of overall record," said Glasgow, a senior. "… When you have some failures, you tend to overlook some of the successes. I think some of the heat is unnecessary."

There is an if-not-now-when? feel to the season. Michigan is favored to win the league led by a senior quarterback (Shea Patterson) ready to get comfortable in a new RPO scheme.

"[First], I think that's where I would pick us," Harbaugh said.

Add to that, Ohio State is coming to Ann Arbor this season with a rookie coach (Ryan Day) and first-time starting quarterback (Justin Fields).

"We embrace the negative. We embrace the suck," Harbaugh added. "Let's take into account … what we can do to make that [Ohio State loss] not happen again. Ever."

But there's always that quirky side to Harbaugh, those distractions, those WTF moments.

Out of nowhere Thursday, the coach said Michigan is "really close" to playing a team on "foreign soil." He did not elaborate.

What he absolutely didn't need to do was call out Meyer during a recent podcast.
\
"Controversy follows wherever he has been," Harbaugh said.

Meyer's daughter weighed in. (Just a guess but that Twitter wouldn't have been posted without at least Urban's tacit approval.)

"I don't think it was anything new. I don't think it was a bombshell," Harbaugh said of his comment.

That might be true, but as one media member said, is it worth it poking the bear with a stick?

"I'm not into making animal analogies," Harbaugh said.

Distractions don't win championships.

Harbaugh Should Take Lessons From His Brother John

If it's any consolation, if Harbaugh makes news for anything he says it's because it was something stupid.

Why would anyone take anything seriously from a guy who orders white milk with a steak dinner.

RE: Jim Harbaugh on James Hudson
Didn't the Michigan admin hire a "special assistant" to Harbaugh to essentially keep him from doing stupid stuff. The Buckeye fans were calling him the "'tard wrangler." And Harbaugh did seem to tone down the antics for awhile, but it seems as though the 'tard wrangler has left to pursue other interests.

Blows my mind someone in 2019 can have such a machismo myopic view of mental health issues. I get it from a generation ago but if you're still carrying water for this "I can't see it -- must be faking" attitude you can get ******.

Dude is a cro-magnon man.

White milk at his age? Maybe with a Grilled Cheese but with a Steak and his $$$ he should be drinking Opus One or better.

Agreed.

I know we're very focused on it here, but is this story getting any traction with national media? Seems to me it's the kind of issue that blows up on social media and then cable sports or cable news pick it up and run with it.

Harbaugh is a weird dude, and a huge *******.

Surprised no one brings up the recruit sleep over he did a couple of years ago: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2609...-and-chill

Darren Rovell was on it. Had some choice things to say about his experience with UM athletics RE: mental health. Basically, Rovell runs a free clinic on mental health and usually has hundreds of attendees at each school. UM sent 10 athletes -- which just further demonstrates how much UM and Jim give a **** about mental health issues.

Most disappointing thing of all of this is the UM fan (twitter at least) reaction to this. All trying to denigrate Hudson, his mother, Rovell, and people with depression/anxiety in general just to support their Football team and Head Coach. I know if the roles were reversed I would absolutely hold Fickell and UC accountable if they had this attitude.

RE: Jim Harbaugh on James Hudson
At face value, I understand what Harbaugh is saying...kids making excuses to get out when they are buried in the depth chart. Except, Harbaugh is a jackwagon, is not sensitive to modern day issues and is only in it for himself. Also, his response to anything possibly negative to his program has been ridiculous over the years, which supports him only being in this for himself and not for the player. If Michigan doesn't pay someone to filter his comments, even just a little bit, they should. He is, on most accounts, a good coach and a good football mind. He would be better suited in the NFL though where you can be less sensitive in what you say.
