They each had to set a goal for the summer workouts and were checked on achieving that goal as part of the first day of camp exercises. So, for example, Alex set a goal to get down to 295 by the opening day of camp (he beat it by 2 pounds), and had to have a "why" for that goal (be quicker, more explosive). They had to set personal goals for camp, and know their "whys". They are setting personal goals for the season. So if they are saying they want to win their MAC division or the MAC Championship as their season goal, they have to be able to express the "why" of their goal. The "Y" on their helmets reminds them to keep their "whys" in mind. Set personal goals, and have personally motivating reasons to achieve those goals. When you know the whys, it's easier to manage and work the hows.
Great info. Thanks. Am I the only one that thought it stood for Ypsi???

Summer/Fall Camp EMUFB discussion
Part of the email from the ticket office...
On Saturday, August 17th, there will be an open scrimmage at The Factory for all season ticket holders, along with any friends and family that would like to attend with you. This scrimmage is free to attend and you will have an opportunity to hear from Coach Creighton following the scrimmage as he will address the fans in attendance. The scrimmage will start at 11:00 a.m. and will conclude around 1 p.m. We're excited to get the first glimpse of Eastern Football this year! We ask fans to not take any photos or video of the team on the field at this event.

Looks like Grissom may have moved to RB or WR. He tweeted a picture of himself catching a pass, and he's not wearing the red QB practice jersey.
Frankly, I'm excited for it. He is a tremendous athlete. Will he look like Alex Gillett his final year? And he'll allow us to continue those double passes for TDs (after Holder graduates this year!)

Frank - I'm glad to hear that - he's seems to be too good an athlete to stay on the bench

Great move if true. Gets a good athlete on the field and helps to build depth at a position (either RB or WR) that has many seniors. EMU is solid and deep on offense but seems to lack a home run hitter. Might Grissom be that guy?

I think this is spot on, and I think Glass has a lot of potential to improve

I was disappointed that the article made it sound as though he has only proven himself with his feet. His passing numbers were very solid.

Agreed, KPJ. Glass had a TD-INT ratio of 9-1. He's proven himself as an excellent decision-maker in the passing game.
My only knock on Glass is he put the ball on the turf a several times last season. Against Buffalo, he fumbled twice (and UB recovered once). If he can clean that up, I see very little downside to Glass.

100% agree. Mike Glass has a great arm, as good as Roback's, with better accuracy and decision making.
Kato Nelson ranked ahead of Mike Glass is laughable!
Jon Wassink ahead of him is also questionable.
The numbers don't lie:
Nelson: 52% completions, 15 TD, 8 Int's.....131 carries, 303 yds, 2.3 avg, 1 TD
Glass: 62% completions, 9 TD, 1 Int.........71 carries, 412 yds, 5.8 avg, 6 TD's
Wassink: 62% completion, 16 TD, 6 Int......46 carries, 162 yds, 3.5 avg, 6 TD's

This list has no credibility, but here are the OOC opponents.
122. Coastal Carolina: Fred Payton/Bryce Carpenter
107. Illinois: Isaiah Williams/Brandon Peters
46. Kentucky: Terry Wilson

Agree CC$ is at his best when his QB is a leader, non-parallel. Willing to do anything to win, even run down on the scout kickoff team!

Looks true. Was pictured with Coach Paige and the WR yesterday on twitter.
